I bought these as a gift for a cherished family friend. I Threw them in the truck to drop off to her later. I was driving over the pass with Dave, a family friend and fellow cult of AMAZON Prime member as the storm hit. There was a tunnel up ahead, so we made it there, and along with about thirty other people, took refuge there to wait out the snowpocalypse. About two hours went by and we realized that both ends of the tunnel had closed completely up by the falling frozen crystals of h2o that were slowly encasing us in an icy tomb. As thoughts of the Donner party and Andes plane crashes flashed through our hapless, impromptu survival encampment, we gathered up all tools and food we could find. We quickly realized the only food we could compile was the contents of three car seats we had dumped out onto poor Dave’s Def Leppard t-shirt he bought at a concert in 1986 at the King Dome in Seattle. And the only thing we could find to dig our way out was these spoons. After dubious deliberation, plenty of finger pointing, copious amounts of consideration, we came to the conclusion that I lost and had to be the one to spend 27 hours digging. In the end, I was able to free Dave, sans sentimental torso covering, 29 former strangers who are now people who’s faces I never wanna see again, and myself with these glorious, and extremely sturdy sentimental spoons. Side note: extreme digging may cause paint to scratch slightly. Probably better used to look at and appreciate than perform a Shawshank Redemption-esque escape, but potato/tomato.
