To be honest, I just wanted something a bit different that still functioned well. This set served those well. I won’t dwell on the unique look but focus in its useability.The shears have a good heft to it. I like this because it translates to a decent joint that wont deform or wear too easily giving up good repeated cuts.The inner ‘hawk bill’ shape to help cut through chicken bone works as good as any other similarly styled shear.Spring assisted opening is great!. Its not too hard to overcome and is perfect to keep these open handles shears well enough in your hands. The handle shape helps fit in your palm and fingers well.Cleaning shears is always a worry just because of water being left in the joints. Removing the locknut each time for that is not very convenient. There are also more nooks and crannies to wash ad compared to simple shears. After a few months I will revisit this review to assess any rusting (with reasonable care and drying of course) without separating the shears to do so.I like the easy separating shears but when you open those too wide, they wind up separating in your hands. Hence I opted for this type.If you like the look of these shears and need something for the kitchen, these work just fine for food. It cuts paper well but absolutely not for that purpose, just a testament on their out-of-box tolerances.

Decided to try spatchcock turkey this year. I purchased these scissors and they cut through the backbone easily.

These poultry shears would probably work better on smaller or medium sized turkeys and work great with chicken.We had a 23 pound turkey and these shears had a difficult time cutting through the pelvis of the turkey, but it did get done.

I wish I had these for my turkey. I used a different pair I had and they were no match for the turkey. Well, these came yesterday and let’s just say I shouldn’t need another pair for some time. Cut through an 8lb chicken like like my wife shopping on Black Friday.These are solid and the easiest I’ve ever used, and I’m a sheet metal worker so I know snips.Just get em and thank me later.
