This is a GORGEOUS little brass grinder. I never let other people grind my coffee, and I never let other people grind my pepper, either! Since it’s a Turkish design, I expect that it was meant for grinding just enough coffee beans to make one cup of coffee. That being understood, it makes a great little pepper mill to keep in my car for use anywhere besides home. It even comes with a cute little travel bag that keeps the adorable little grinder and the tiny little scoop that comes with it. I may even pack the little business card that has the QR codes so anyone who comments on it can scan the QR code for more information. The only “complaint” I have, if one can even call it a is that it doesn’t seem to grind very evenly. Even when I tighten it down so that most of the pepper is finely ground, it still spits out some really LARGE chunks of what can really only be called “cracked” pepper, but not GROUND pepper. Even with the slightly chunky pepper it delivers, it’s still much better than ANY pre-ground pepper!

The ground collection bin is divine, especially for storage.No mess in the cupboard.Great for my RV and TraveldsWhy the 4 Stars?1. Time consuming to adjust the coarseness of the grounds. You basically have to pick your preferred coarseness setting and keep it there before you start cooking.It’s work to change ground settings; impossible to do as you cook.2. I love the grinder handle. I have large hands, so It’s a little challenging to hold the body if you have the collection bin attached. Best to set it on the counter while the collection bin is attached.With the collection bin detached, I was able to grind effortlessly.If you don’t have Herman Munster hands, you will probable not have the issues that I had.

On the good side, this has pleasant heft in your hand, the crank turns readily, and it looks good sitting on my range.This pepper mill cost hardly anything at all, so I don’t want to out-and-out complain. The casting is inaccurate enough the the top frequently falls off the bottom. It also doesn’t grind steadily.My daughter bought a similar mill long ago, and hers stays together. Every turn of the handle on her mill makes pepper bits.I was silly to think that a $15 mill would be nicer than the product that came in the mail.

It’s pretty fine but if you’re using fresh cracked pepper for your recipes especially if they’re larger recipes I would recommend just using a mortar and pedestal or an electric oneThe pepper grinder just takes too long

Love this item’s beauty. I ordered two, one for salt and one for pepper. One box the mill’s handle was not assembled so I proceeded to unscrew the top nut of the mill to affix the handle for cranking the mill and I promptly dropped it! It bounced to Abba knows where because my husband and I neither one can locate it. So I sent an email to company to obtain a replacement part and they responded the next day!! Will update review regarding functionality later after I have used these a bit.
