The invention of the automatic ice maker is a godsend in my book. Though it gets boring when you have the same old ice maker machine ice for when you want an ice-cold drink in a nice glass. And then, in steps the Berlinzo Clear Ice Ball Maker Mold, and you have fancy-dancy ice balls for your fancy drinks. While it is not automatic, you have to fill this mold and its holder with water, then place it in the freezer for up to 24 hours, indeed it works. My first Ice Ball was terrific, now my second one was not so great, but that was my fault, as I did not dump the ice that formed in the base of the holder out and start fresh with all water. Not sure why, but I see in other comments on the page that it needs to breathe. It was an easy process, to clean the mold and holder when I took it out of the box, filled the holder with water, inserted the mold into the holder, and placed it in my freezer. Just make sure you have room in your freezer for the holder, it is a tad bulky. The next day I took it out, opened it up and there was a perfect ice ball. I have read some comments that the ice did not come out clear, for me it did, using only Washington DC City tap water. I wonder if I use fancy bottled water if the ice will be even better. The only downside I see is it makes one ice ball at a time, and it takes 24 hours. Fine if you want to drink alone or are thinking far enough ahead that you take several days to make several ice balls for drinks with friends. Though I see on their site they have a two-ice ball mold set up as well. For now, I will continue to make one ice ball a day and put the ice ball in my freezer ice storage bucket. I took several out that I made day after day, and they were all just fine.I am pleased with the ease of use, the quality of materials, and the finished product that the mold makes. I like its well-designed packaging, and the shipping on Amazon was quick and no hassle. This is a great housewarming gift, or general gift, for a friend who likes to make nice drinks. You donβt have to drink alcohol to have a nice-looking drink with ice in it, it will be great for an Arnold Palmer-style drink. I think kids will get a kick out of these ice balls in their drinks too, it will make them feel so grown up. I am looking forward to making a bunch of ice balls and having them stacked up in a glass ice container for a future event.I think you will enjoy this product as much as I have, and am going to this fancy-dancy drink season!

we’ve bought a lot of less expensive ice molds with horrible results – super hard to pry the mold off the ice, they crack when you put them in the glass or shortly after pouring your drink, or even they are hard to fill and spill all over the place. This one is amazing from start to finish. Easy to load, pretty easy to pull out of the mold, perfectly clear, we’ve made about 8 since receiving last week and haven’t broken one yet. It is so worth the extra money over a $10-$15 one. The little extra storage bag works great as well to have some on hand and allowed me to just buy the 2 ball mold to save some cash. We took some advice from reviewers here about using warm water at a certain temp – but after a couple of times we just went with warm tap water, and even that is working just fine….and we have a very old gas water heater that takes forever, so I think we were only at about 80 degrees? Still clear as could be. Agree with others – this is finally one that works as advertised!

So, this thing is crazy frickin cool. It’s absolutely clear spheres, everytime. I even use tap water from the sink. Its absolutely takes 24hrs to make the ice which is a real shame, but if that’s what it takes to make these PERFECT CLEAR ICE SPHERES, then I’ll deal with it. The ice lasts about 4 refilledglasses before it goes away, and that’s with room temperature drinks. So, it’s pretty cool. I would recommend getting 2 of these bad boys for optimal utilization because I don’t know about anyone out there, but I drink a lot of liquids. But if you just want to use these ice spheres for casual drinking with 1 or 2 glasses a day, just the 2 ice spheres will do you just fine. This is a 10/10, refer to my photos because it’s pretty rad

This is not an inexpensive mold, but you get what you pay for…cool clear ice balls, clear is the key! This is the first ice ball mold that I have purchased that makes solid-clear ice balls!Appears to be very sturdy I expect I will be using this for years to come. Not cheap, but great at producing the clear ice balls!

I have been looking for a clear ice maker for a while. I live in an area where the water is considered hard. I was curious if this would work. I have an ice maker that I had bought previously that did not give clear ice balls. This one is different. The only negative is, removing the molds after they are frozen can be a little tough. It takes a bit of patience and elbow grease to slide the molds out of the box.but once you get past that, the ice balls come out easily and they are clear!! The instructions state to use lukewarm water. I am not sure if this makes a difference. In short, read the instructions and follow them and you should be good!!!

I just finished my first set of ice and it turned out good. The instructions are simple. I just needed to slow down putting the mold into the container as I went too fast and some of the water over flowed. It was ok as the water level was right to cover the amount needed to complete the round cubes.

These are pretty pricey so I tend to expect perfection. I’ve made about a dozen or so spheres so far. They come out *mostly* clear but not perfectly so. I have found it takes 4 hands to remove the spheres so it’s helpful if another person is around. Otherwise I put the container between my knees and rocking the spheres out. They DO required a full 36-48 hours to make in my fridge/freezer. A chest freezer may freeze them faster.

Ever since I purchased this ice ball maker, Iβve been the talk of San Diego. My balls are so clear they look like they have the cloaking device from the predator. Itβs almost impossible to believe. You cannot go wrong with this purchase if you use filtered ice and can read instructions. I love it so much Iβve bought all my friends this for Christmas!!!
