A great example of a simple to use tool that works well – even better than the blunt end of an old-style church key. Operation requires very little strength and delivers immediate results.Once placed on the jar a slight lift is all that is needed to release the vacuum; barely an effort. This opener in for traditional commercially sealed jars. Work extremely well and has a permanent place in my kitchen drawer. It is not for opening home canning jars. Why? Home canning jar lids consist of two pieces – a ring and a top. These jars make their seal on the top lid only. The screw on ring is needed to maintain the seal but does not have the ability to release the vacuum on these jars. Think of it; who hasn’t taken the ring off a home canning jar and find out you need your fingernail or a butter knife to release the seal and lift the lid off?

This little tool is incredible!! At 65 years old, I can finally open sealed jars with no problem! I’ve always used this, “pry up the lid edge to break the seal” method, but some jars are just impossible to find anything that will work. Very frustrating sometimes! This seems to work on them all. Now, we’re talking about regular lids like you find in the store on jam, pickle, sauce, etc jars. NOT FOR CANNING JAR LIDS AND RINGS! It works surprisingly well! I was shocked at how little pressure I had to use to pop the lid! I spent years searching for and buying products that didn’t work, in an effort to make opening jars easier for my elderly Aunt. Everything was clumsy, confusing or plain junk. I sure wish I’d been able to find this for her. But I’m sure using it, as well as my sister, who gets terrible cramps and has limited strength in her hands. It’s fantastic! I don’t mind the price because it works perfect and being metal, it should last forever. It’s sturdy and lightweight! A great little tool!

After trying several jar opening gadgets with less than impressive results, I bought this one. What a surprise! Without applying hardly any force, the vacuum was released, little twist and jar opened! Doesn’t look fancy, but will be so appreciated as a gift especially for people with arthritis.I go overseas every year racking my brain what little gifts to bring. I am going to buy a whole lot of them soon (taking no room and hardly any weight)

I never knew this device existed, but it’s what I have needed forever. I use every method available to get jar lids loose – grippies, slamming upside down on the counter, that thing that works like a wrench for jars. hot water… Some jars just won’t open. It works on lids for canning jars as well as commercial jars. The real test for me was the store brand natural jam jars from a well known northeast chain. Don’t know how they seal those jars but when my 6′ 4″ nephew with vice grip hands has a problem with those I know it’s definitely not me. With this little opener, I just put it under the lid, give a little lift (you’re not prying the lid off) and the seal breaks. No more waiting for my nephew to come over and open the jar for me.

Love it! Easy to use, lightweight and it doesn’t bend or leave an Indention in my lids

This is perfect for opening jars that are hard to open. Just put under the lid and lift up and seal is broken. I’m in my 70’s so jars are hard to open. This opener is so easy to use and a great help for me.

No more struggling to open jars. This is amazingly easy, so clever. It doesn’t work with deeper lids like canning jar lids though. Still it’s great for elderly hands.
