- HOW-TO: Be sure you have the attachment handle all the way down before placing the lid on β then your container will remain airtight. A small screwdriver is included in the bag for keeping your wire tight. Lastly, if you center your cheese properly on the tray it will glide in and out without any issues. The instructions provided are key to getting the most out of the adjustable cheese slicer and enjoying the perfect slicing or shredding experience!

Okay, so this is one of those kitchen gadgets that will make sense to some and seem silly to others, so… let’s cover that!First this takes a brick of cheese that you would normally throw into a zip like plastic back into your fridge or snack drawer and makes it… large. This is not a great thing for those who have space issues in your refrigerator. It also comes with two blades that need storage, so outside the fridge drawer space. Overall, this will make your cheese take up more space no matter what size it is because, well it doesn’t shrink with your cheese size at all. It’s just more space overall.Storage wise though, it seems good. I mean the plastic zips are… okay with storing cheese, but they don’t really prolong it so much as keep it from getting hard… IF everyone involved actually closes it properly. Big iff there. The storage doesn’t seem better than plastic… maybe about the same. It’s certainly easier not to loose your cheese in the back of other things with this though because of size but prolonging… not really buy int. This brings us to the slicing portion of the review. Does it work… yes. Is it faster… umm, well… Here is the thing. If you have a food processor, stand mixer or anything else that just destroys cheese when you want it shredded faster, well this not faster. Not even close. This might really handy if you just want a little shredded cheese or a minimum about things taken out to shred it. For the sharp challenged though, like those that are not good or avoid knives or those who worry their about to take their knuckles off on a traditional shredder, this might be worthwhile. It’s slow but I don’t really picture someone doing something so ridiculously clumsy or questionable that they’re going to hurt themselves so… plus! The plastic seems okay, in terms of the build. I think someone with challenge hands or fingers might have a pretty hard time getting the storage lid on and off. It’s pretty firm to get it on and off, and that’s just not going to work for someone that hurts. The dial on the side is… awkward. I mean it’s handy for pushing the brick forward to get a nice clean slice works but it seems… cumbersome. Like I just kind of want to push it forward and get precise slices but it’s not really designed the way you’d think it would be in order to do that. For most, this is going to be a fun thing to use a couple of times forget. Other options are just faster and takes up for less space. For some though, this slow and can’t really screw it up too bad approach might work. I wanted this to be a universal, better mousetrap kind of offering, but the more I used it the more I thought it really isn’t that. For reference, I used a standard 2lb black of Bandon Cheddar Cheese. Which is another problem because, well you can only use one brick at a time with this, at least until you shrink it enough, and there is no circumstance I can imagine someone having two of these in their space.Nice idea but not quite there.

Itβs a bit hard to get the lid (face?) off at first. Thought I was going to break it but the more I opened it, the easier it got. Iβve only used the wire cutter which is decent. I feel like I have to tighten the wire before every use which is semi easy since it does come with a Allen wrench (not screwdriver as it says) but you have to remove the cutter just to tighten or it doesnβt cut the bottom part of the cheese. I mostly bought it for storing the cheese with hopes of not wasting it and that seems to be working. Havenβt used the grater options yet but I look forward to it!

I like this cheese slicer/storage unit in many ways. The handle works beautifully for carrying it, the unit closes nicely, works properly, and feels well built – I expect that it will last a long time.I have only used it to store and slice cheese from a block, but it works beautifully for that. I do wish that it was a little easier to see how thick you are about to cut the cheese. Not that you cannot, just that I wish it was a little easier. All in all, I love it and am thinking about giving some of these as gifts to friends!

I love this little Velveeta slicing machine, it’s the perfect solution for it since once you open the Velveeta package it’s doomed in the foil. It’s not that sturdy, this is my second one, the first one cracked where the roller mechanism snaps into the main body.

First, everything is hard to turn, snap and pull. I used some vegetable oil as a lube which made things a little better but not great. It works like a guillotine (Think French revolution) that you push down onto the cheese. The cheese is sliced by a tensioned wire which is abut 1/4″ below a metal plate that follows the wire and pushes the cheese slice away from the cheese block. The problem is that it doesn’t line up well with the wire and starts its own cut. The second problem is that it the wire doesn’t always cut to the bottom and leave about 1/16″ of cheese still attached to the block of cheese. That is hard to deal with.It cuts small pieces of cheese best. The good part is that a block of cheddar can sit right in the slicer in your fridge. It’s marginal, so three stars. With more development of the design it could have been great. They went to market too fast.

I use it to slice cheese for my samiches.(lol) it’s not a perfect slice of cheese one side is thinner than the other side. I would have to move the knob as I’m slicing the cheese to adjust it for more even slice. The shredder works good but for single serving. I wouldn’t use it to try and cover like a casarole dish it’ll take to long.
