I got them for our survival kits. I tested them out, and they work just as good as one that cost 5 times as much and has synthetic or rubber handle, which you really only need if your opening up dozens of cans every day. This is just as fine, and doesn’t hurt a bit because its a metal handle. I highly recommend it. I do not recommend the mini-version sold by the manufacturer, stick with this. And I tested it, and made a meal with it. Enjoy.

This is what we had to use when I was a kid, there was no other option. It is not easy to use one of these, but once you learn, you’ll realkize how easy it can be. The biggest plus is its portability, it’s an absolute necessity when you go camping or are away from comfortable civilization and need to open cans that are not pull-tab lids. On the negative side, both the lid and the can itself are left with very sharp edges, so care must be taken to prevent injury from the opened cans.

Works OK but not the hardened steel of the identical ones from the 50’s and 60’s. Good enough if you can’t find an old one at the flea market.

Why did i waste money in the past for fancier can openers when I had one of these for most of my life. I wonder where it disappeared to. But after a couple of can openers simply stopped opening cans or would only grip onto certain cans, i decided to go back to an old school opener and got this one. It opens every kind of can. Get this one, even just to have on hand for when your fancy dancy one won’t work.

Had this for a couple weeks now, hasn’t broke yet so it already outclasses the most expensive one walmart carries. For the price you really can’t beat it.

excellent can opener that is plain and simply made and easy to use. only disadvantage is that it is not made to open bottle caps.

Save me of using a spoon to open a canYes, you can open a can with a spoon aside from a knife which I tried to avoid using to open a can
