The media could not be loaded. Β Great concept, if only it fit on the jars and worked well. The jars I had, and tried, were common nut butter jars with standard 2 1/2 inch lid sizes, but, as you can see in the video, the lid for the stirrer won’t fit to screw on the two jars I have. I did try stirring it anyway, but as someone else noted, it really only stirs the middle, even in this smallish jar, so it isn’t any better than hand stirring–in fact, it’s worse!Wish somebody would come up with one of these that works, because there’s a need out here. LolRevision on 11/27/21:I was able to find the right sized jar that this actually fits–it fits the Once Again Unsweetened Organic Sunflower Seed Butter jar that I just got from an order I placed elsewhere. The jar mouth opening is 3 inches across, and the lid for this stirrer screws on, or, more like, “pushes on” so you can stir the butter with this stirrer. It actually did a pretty decent job if I wiggled it back and forth from side to side within the slit that the metal stirring wand goes through whilst stirring. After I stirred it that way, I took the lid off again and removed the wand, which was not very messy, as the lid removed the excess nut butter as it passed through the slit, as designed. I then put it back in the jar and stirred again with a bit more flexibility without the slit in the lid being used as a guide. All in all, I got it pretty well stirred with less effort than it usually takes me with just a knife. Putting the actual jar mouth size in the listing for reference so people know it doesn’t fit every type of nut butter jar would be helpful, so I’ve attempted to give that information in this update. It only fit one of the jars of the three types of nut butters we eat, so it’s not really as useful as it could’ve been, although I was able to stir one of the jars with the smaller mouth without this device’s lid attached, and it did an alright job with some effort. Wish it worked a bit better than it does in both cases, but it is better than using a knife. Hopefully this will help others decide if it’s right for them…2nd Revision on 3/4/22:I’m upgrading this to 5 stars because this stirrer has made our lives infinitely easier, even without the lid fitting. The wand itself is perfect for stirring nut butters easily and efficiently by just moving it around, stirring it, scraping the bottom and edges, moving it up and down, etc. I’d say it does the job in about 1/5th of the time and energy expended otherwise with a knife or spoon. Just ditch the lid!!

This worked pretty well for me and is much better than my usual method of stirring endlessly with a knife or fork and ending up with a lot of the oil running down the outside of the jar. This really works if you follow the instructions.First, I used this with a 16 oz jar of Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter. While the instructions say to screw the lid on, in reality it was more like I pushed it down and it slid into place. Then I put just the tip of the metal wand through the slot and into the top layer of oil and peanut butter. You need to start at the top and work your way down slowly while stirring. Most of the action is actually with the wand towards the upper part of the jar. By the time you mix the upper third, the rest is easy. You must lean the wand so that it is at an angle as shown in the pictures. The handle needs to be at the side of the jar to enable you to turn it. If you tilt the wand the other way, the handle ends up in the middle and you can’t turn the darn thing. Now here’s the rub: you will want to hold the jar by gripping this lid with your dominant hand while you stir with your other hand. I’m not weak, but I had a bit of trouble holding the jar, even with it sitting on a towel to help steady it. Truthfully, though, this is difficult when mixing peanut butter via whatever method I use. It’s just a bit more awkward to have to hold the jar by the lid instead of gripping it in the middle.I thought this did a pretty darn good job of mixing my peanut butter and I much prefer it to any other method I’ve tried. It’s light years faster. Honestly, there’s no comparison. The only thing to consider is that if you leave this in the jar, you are essentially leaving the jar open, as the slot at the top is not completely filled by the wand. Where I live I have fruit flies much of the year, and they even get into my refrigerator. I’m not going to leave this in. I’m removing it and replacing it with the original lid. I find that if I store peanut butter in the refrigerator it doesn’t separate once I’ve mixed it well.

I used this on Smucker’s 16 oz. Natural Creamy Peanut Butter. The strength of this peanut butter stirrer is that it gets all the way to the bottom of the jar and goes right along the bottom edges of the jar preventing a dry cakey layer of peanut butter at the bottom of the jar. It also can be used with a variety of jar sizes. The downside is that it doesn’t stir the oil in at the top quite as thoroughly as others I have used. I also felt I needed to hold onto the lid and make sure it stayed in place. But over all this is comparable to other stirrers, just with a different strength and weakness. I am glad to have it.

The Chef’n Nut Butter Stirrer is a great tool, but I haven’t been able to use it. That is because it doesn’t fit the jars I get. I believe if it were to fit and I were to use it id be happy. But this is not as universal as it states.

This only works on a couple of my jars and when it does work, it only gets the middle of the product. I really wanted it for my tahini which gets used a good bit but separates a LOT. Itβs a bit too stiff for this gadget and it doesnβt fit on my peanut butter jars. Great idea, needs some work on implementation. (Too bad, I had high hopes).

The stirrer is sturdy to be able to stir thick butter. The lid part has to screw onto a jar to be effective. Unfortunately, it only fits some of my peanut butter jars, but not others. it still requires a lot of strength and effort to mix the butters.

This was easier to use than a butter knife, the rubber top kept the oil from spilling, and it did a good job of stirring. That said, there is no easy way to stir really separated peanut butter, unless maybe one of those paint can shakers. I used this on a big jar, and had to stretch the top and hold it in place, but it was a big help, anyway. I think it’s perfect for a 16 oz jar.

The unit is a great idea, but doesnβt fit the standard plastic peanut butter jars we purchase.
