The media could not be loaded. Β This has an intermittent “struggle” sound from the DC motor. Also, when it made a complete revolution and the lid is off, it doesn’t shut off! It’s kind of a minor struggle to get the lid off while it’s still rotating on the can opener, and dripping too. While I cannot deduct a * from hearing a weak motor, I have to take one off from the unit not stopping. This is not described in the instruction manual either.Disclaimer: I pay tax to only review products that I can use at work or at home. My grading philosophy: 5* if it does what it says. 4* if it works with a few flaws. 3* if it works only for specific conditions and not for others. 2* if it does not work. 1* if I straight up 86 it. I will ask for the vendor’s help if it’s 3* and below and will either bump up/down depending on feedback.

We don’t have space for a traditional electric can opener to sit on our counter. This is super easy to use and then I can store in a kitchen drawer. Nice & compact!

I have a bit of trouble putting the battery lid on and off. I guess I’m still getting used to using this kind of opener because I’m always wondering if it is on the can right. But, once on, it does the job. It goes around the lid without assistance and stops on its own. I especially like that it provides a curved edge. You won’t have to worry about cutting yourself on the lid.

We have only used this a few times because we don’t eat that much canned food, but the main issue that we have is that it doesn’t automatically stop like it says it should. All that being said, we still like it more than our hand operated can opener and it takes about the same space in our drawer, which is nice. It does work well to open the cans, and it is very simple to use.

The can opener is very easy to use, and it is a good value for the money. It uses two AA batteries to operate. It is as simple to use as any other hand held can opener without having to test your hand strength, simply place it and press the button and it will do all the work for you, and the opened lit will be held in place with the opener’s built-in magnet. This is perfect for anyone who has issues with carpal tunnel and similar illnesses.
