Needing to buy some ice cube trays, I decided on these due to the low-cost, the compact size of the trays, and the fact that they’re made from silicone. After reading reviews I got a bit nervous about the white residue but doing some research it’s a common issue for households that have hard water.”If you live in an area that has hard water, the minerals can leave a powdery white residue on silicone. It’s not dangerous, but it will interfere with the nonstick properties. To remove the problem, soak the silicone pieces in distilled white vinegar for about 30 minutes. The vinegar will cut through the mineral deposits. Rinse the pieces well and dry with a microfiber cloth.” Source: The SpruceThere is nothing to be alarmed about. The ice tastes fine but I do plan to try the vinegar trick before I refill them with water again.Update: After we used them once, I simply rinsed the trays out and refilled them with tap water again. This time there was no white residue at all, and I didn’t even need to do the vinegar soak trick! Our situation points less to our water being hard but the new trays had silicone dust that dissipated after the first use.

My dog is a drama queen and feels she needs ice any time I make a drink but sadly the other ice trays I have make ice cubes way too big which results in the dreaded βsock stepping into random waterβ feeling or just sharp pieces of ice my feet some how always find. My dog loves to break up the ice chunks and then always leaves big pieces everywhere and only eats what she wants so I needed smaller ice cubes to stop having to find ice shards all the time. And no I will not stop giving her ice because itβs adorable and she is living her best life. Anyways these ice trays really are great and the lid makes them amazing when transporting from filling up then back to the freezer. They can be kind of a pickle at first to learn how to pop out but once the normal hypothermia kicks in from having the ice cube tray life you learn quickly to just twist once then hold the tray upside down and start pushing on the bottom of each piece (kinda like the pop it toys but with this you get ice as a reward) and usually by time you get to the end of the tray most if not all cubes have popped out. I honestly should have ordered more. Overall I love the trays and finally have no more random water patches for my socks to step in. Thatβs a win (for size reference I have a labradoodle and the ice pieces are about the size of half a thumb I guess lol)

Kind of small, which is fine since I don’t use ice cubes very often, but if you use a lot, or need some for a party, buy extras! The kids don’t fit very well and tend to pop off as the ice expands while freezing. You can only fill these about 2/3 full, which isn’t easy, because the cavities are pretty small. These trays are adequate, but next time I’ll look for better quality covered ice trays.

I love the colors and unique shapes and love how easy the ice slides off for refreshing drinks! One of the things I don’t like is the top doesn’t close tight which makes the water spread.

I just recently bought this to replace my plastic ice trays, which were a huge pain to use. The silicone makes it very easy to remove ice. However, it is a bit difficult to evenly distribute the water on the tray – might have to use a beaker to make it easier to fill up each cube. Another thing to note is that its hard to put the lid back on after you remove it when its done freezing – ice expands and lid no longer fits.

I wanted ice cubes for keeping my water in my thermo freezing the entire day and this was nice and cute. Although the lid was small and wouldnβt completely close which was a bummer.

Ice cubes look like crystals, and getting them out is like a fidget pop! The come with lids too so you can stack them to save space! 10/10

I loved the idea of these. It was difficult to get the lids on with them filled. Then when I went to take the ice out, it was not easy. I thought that I would be able to push on the bottom and they come out. It did not work like that. It just pushed them up a bit and then I had to manually take out each one. Which, it is frozen water so they are cold! My fingers started to hurt and then I realized that I was also touching every piece of ice. To then also realize that as I am manually taking them all out, it is taking me longer since I have to stop due to them being cold and since they are small, they started to melt a bit. I was going to return them, but the effort of packaging up and dropping off plus the cost to the environment for them to drive the product back seemed like a lot of work for a $15 product so now I am stuck with them and do not really want to go through trouble to make some ice cubes.
