I can’t tell you how many different ones of these I have tried. And have been disappointed. I had ones w/batteries b/c originally did not wish to have another device plugged in the kitchen taking up space and having to sit near an outlet vs anywhere of my choice. The ones that take batteries need replacement often so its not a one time investment at that point b/c you always have to buy batteries. That may have even been worth it but they always broke in some way. They all basically have the same design and mechanism as far as how they grind and work. All others I have tried, one of the ones stopped working or had some issue. They ones w/ lights, would have one shaker’s light go out w/in a few uses, etc. I really wanted a powered one and felt my search was never ending. Finally found this two in one which I thought was a great idea and the best of both worlds. B/c it is only one unit, the base is small and does not take up much space and we have an outlet near the stove that actually works great for this purpose. Again, b/c its just one and not two shakers, it does not clutter the counter. It stays docked when not in use and is always ready to go. Not sure how long it actually holds a charge but have never had an issue with it running out when cooking. the blue light indicates it charged and ready to go. easy to fill. I will say I ordered once and it just stopped working. It would charge, say it was charged and a make a noise as if it was trying to work but then simply wouldn’t. I contacted the seller, got a replacement, send other one back and the new one has been wonderful. I have seen other reviews that said the same so not sure if maybe something happens during transit that disrupts a sensitive working part b/c its interesting that many people have said the same thing. but my 2nd one is wonderful. the two in one feature it SO convenient for cooking b/c I usually use both salt and pepper to season things and I am a huge fan of reducing clutter and “stuff” but still preserving all the devices I need/want. also a GREAT gift/housewarming, etc.

I like the ease of use and charging unit. the compartments are a little sticky to open to refill

Love this item for my hand arthritis. The first one we ordered came broken, so we had the send back, but it was replaced quickly & it works great!

Love it. It grinds fast and even has a tablespoon measurer on the end. We had the previous version with 2 grinders and this one is an upgrade. Super easy to use and takes up less space.

I’m not sure what happened here. The reviews were positive, and I’ve really had a poor experience with an Amazon product–much less a Cuisinart one: a reputable company! Well, a good βaffordableβ brand, in the very least. Iβve never had problems with them before with our numerous βchoppersβ and βmixersβ and whatnotβmy SO really digs into the whole βkitchen gadgetβ thing. Cuisinart, Pampered Chef, KitchenAid, you name it.So, when we received this Cuisinart product, immediately after letting it charge for a couple of hours the performance was, “straining”. The little motor in it really seemed to be struggling with the load of a few peppercorns. Salt ran fine the one time we tried it. I already have a “pinch of salt” dish next to the stove, so we alternated to the other side: one of the plastic tabs broke. (crap, okay, maybe I twisted too hard: be more careful, next time)I tried various output settings, but the device really only seemed to poot out the barest minimum of product. When I removed the peppercorn container, the motor ran fine, I guess. Slow and deliberate, as expected. I figured, “Okay, we’ll just need to use it longer, I guess.”, so we would accept this “normal operation” of running it, shaking it a little, running it some more until we had the needed amount of pepper.Several weeks of this behavior passed. It was grueling, and often we simply decided to just use already-ground pepper from a box because we just didn’t want to deal with the hassle. Eventually, we thought there might be a problem with the actual pepper–perhaps it was too hard or stale or “something” (I’m not really a “pepper connoisseur” so don’t yell at me). Remember: the βsaltβ side wasnβt being used due to the broken tab. But then, while changing out the pepper, the plastic tab on the OTHER side broke off, too! (GRRRR WTFFF—- AGAIN? ARGH!!!!) I was very gentle with itβthe plastic is garbage. Despite the missing tab, I re-attempted the grind with new, fresh βdriedβ peppercorns. Same result: “STRAIN, STRAIN, STRAIN (poot) (poot) STRAIN (poot) ENUGHHHHHH.” –and it gives out. Put it back on the charger.Iβd honestly have an easier time grinding my own fresh pepper in my mortar and pestle. But then WHATβS THE POINT of getting a rechargeable grinder?!So now, I’m left with a… well I don’t know WHAT I’m left with, now: a very poor representation of what Cuisinart quality SHOULD BE, I guess. No, I didn’t get a warranty; again, based on the Cuisinart reputation, my bad, guess I won’t make that mistake again.I’m just SO FREAKING DISAPPOINTED!!! Really wanted to get one of their espresso machines for Christmas, but now I have no idea… I honestly feel betrayed. I certainly don’t want a replacement for this. And frankly, if this wasn’t a counterfeit, then I would be super surprised. Does anyone know how to tell if I got a counterfeit? Thanks in advance if you do.Anyways, that’s my experience. Hope yours is better. Or just go get a manual pepper mill.

I have had many battery operated grinders but this one is by far the best. I can regulate the pepper grind to what I want, no batteries required just plug it in and the charge lasts a very long time. Looks great on the counter and no need for 2 . This was a little more money but “you get what you pay for” and Cuisinart are great products
