This can opener is complicated to use, it needs to be held in a certain position against the can in order for it to work. You get what you pay for, cheaper is not always better.

I am definitely a senior citizen and I also have carpal tunnel in my right wrist. My old can opener broke and needed to be replaced. I had a very cheap version can opener in my drawer. It was a hit and miss trying to open a can and was almost impossible to turn. I tossed and and purchased this one from Amazon. Very easy to use and does the job.
