They probably don’t leak (much), but I don’t use them because cheaper ones seem to work better. I have two brands of this style stopper. This one is more attractive, but I have to store opened bottles horizontally and I am not as confident in the seal as the other plainer-looking / cheaper ones. I don’t like the product design. They feel looser than they are.

When I was growing up – we had a much simpler version of this. Would work on virtually any bottle. Thought these would be the same. I don’t drink wine… These do work on Martinelli’s non alcohol; but barely. But do work. They won’t work on a Welche’s grape bottle – not sure why – they want to pop out.. They are heavy duty – just wish a bit more rubber to expand and seal. Almost everything is metal including the decorative ‘skirt’; the top does have a thin plastic washer which you lever against. But the lever and pin and stuff are all metal.

The gaskets are not sealing well. You can slide them up and down when they are “closed”. The compression of the gasket is too small. It is a flimsy design that doesn’t fit the bottle tightly.
