   I am quite satisfied with this product and like that it had two slicing blades one for very thin slices and one for a thicker slices. I wanted a slicer that could make thin slices for potato chips, and dehydrating. I am a gadget lover and have a electric slicer for bread and meat, and have used it for veggies, but it is loud and hard to clean. I also have a food processer but it is also a pain to clean, and takes up a lot of space in the dishwasher, plus the blade for slicing only sliced thick slices. This works good for small jobs, and is easy to just rinse off the blades. The slicing blade if VERY sharp and easy to slice veggies like onions, green peppers, and potatoes. I haven’t used all of the attachments, but am pleased that the blades are very sharp. I was afraid that using it would take a lot of muscle since I have arthritis, but it is very easy to use. I am very glad for the safety glove because I have had my share of kitchen accidents. Hopefully everyone uses this product using safety precautions. I have a been known to ignore instructions and regretted it. The product came will blade holder, but I prefer to store the parts inside of slicer. Update: I started to use one of the ribbon blade and found it difficult, so I came back and decided to watch the video, I wish they would have the demonstrator narrate and explain how to hold the hold the vegetable, because I didn’t have much luck with that blade. Most of the demonstrators seem to be practiced, I wish they would share some of their knowledge with a greenhorn like myself. :UPDATE I have had this slicer for about a month and the slicing blades are dull. I use it to slice potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions for the dehydrator, I only did small amounts. I thought maybe I could get replacement blades and when another customer asked about replacement blade he was told to just buy another one. Shouldn’t the blades last more than a month. I realize that it was only $20, but if they only last a short time shouldn’t you be able to get replacements? $20 is not a lot but not if you have to buy one every month or so.

   I loved slicing quarter inch slices of sweet potato yesterday, it went so quickly, my dog Poppy already has her dehydrated potato chip treats this morning. I used the holder that comes with the machine to grip the sweet potato as it got smaller and that went well, just had to keep reminding myself to use it. They also sent a metal cloth glove to protect your hand but it does not seem very substantial. In fact it looks like the one I saw on a dehydrating video that had holes in the fingertips. I think the protection would be minimal although it is something. I opted to use the veggie holder which leaves a fat chunk of vegetable behind and just throw the leftover in a bowl and then to the compost. The wimpy glove is why I gave 4 stars for safety. The Fullstar Mandoline is so sharp and fast that it was almost hypnotic near the end of doing the potatoes. Hypnotic could lead to accidents, use the holder. Everything was 5 stars so far. I have only used the 1/4 inch slicer adapter and it was great. It was easy to wash off before use. I feel that I saved a lot of money getting this mandoline slicer and I’m very pleased to be able to get started slicing veg and fruit to freeze and put up at the end of summer. I also have their onion chunker and it is amazing.

   I purchased this mandoline because it had the features and design I was looking for. I needed an easy and quick way to slice vegetables since my knife skills are not the greatest. I doubt I’ll really use the spiralizer or ribbon blade although it’s a bonus to have.The packaging that it came in was fine. The blades were taped over for safety and packaged in plastic. Of course, use common sense when handling sharp objects to avoid cutting yourself. The blades are very sharp!After unpackaging I washed all of the pieces, inserted the blade that I wanted to use and was ready to go. It’s extremely simple to use and also came with instructions. I tested this out on a squash, carrot, and red onion. It functions as it should and I was done in just a few minutes which would have taken at least 3x longer had I only used a regular knife. I didn’t have any issues with the container sliding around which has rubber padding on the bottom to avoid slipping and sliding. The pieces itself were sturdy and good quality for the price. Everything fit together properly without having any issues of it coming apart or sliding around during use.Overall, this is a good product and I would recommend it.

   Hesitated to order this based on some of the negative reviews and bloodied hand parts/ missing finger tips, etc. I just used it to slice 2 large roaster pans full of fresh garden veggies. Honestly, it works like a dream. I love it. Have made it a kitchen ” rule” to always use the safety glove ( and yes, TWO gloves would have made sense, which is why I gave it 4 stars), and a rule to only rinse the blades in hot soapy water- NO actually touching of the blades with a dishcloth/ scrubber, for any reason. BTW, this is for adults ONLY, I really cringed at the reviewer who let her 7 yr old use it. WOW… Anyway….Highly recommend this, am considering ordering one for a Christmas gift. Nice holder included for blades. I thought it was a very nice price point.

   I love this mantle and but it is extremely sharp supposed to come with 2 cut proof gloves but I never got mine so that’s why safety wise I’ve marked it lower Believe me I’ve never had a mantle in this sharp be careful but boy does it work
