This is a well made salad spinner. It is easy to spin and seems well made. I have enjoyed Gourmia products over the years; however, the word “Jumbo” in the description is misleading,at best. It is about half the size of my old salad spinner (a different brand) that I had for many years that was described as “large.” . No where on the box does it indicate “Jumbo;:” however, the accompanying directions in the box do say “Jumbo.” This will hold enough greens for maybe 3, possibly 4 people. The actual basket size is 8×5 inches, or approximately a three quart size if the greens are packed solidly in the basket, which obviously isn’t how the spinner is designed to work. That said, it is a handy size for preparing salad greens for two to four people: two to three for a dinner salad, four for a side salad. The outside bowl is sturdy and the spinner basket is reasonably sturdy. Uniquely, it has a hole on top for draining the salad bowl without removing the spinner basket. Not sure what benefit that provides in that I would remove the basket and rinse out the bowl if I were going to use it to serve salad. The locking mechanism is unique, but given one usually holds the basket down with one hand while spinning with the other to stabilize the bowl, probably has limited if any benefit. On the other hand, the product is fairly priced and well made. If you are looking for a day-to-day spinner for a small family, then this product is a good choice.

*EDIT* After about a year of weekly use, it finally broke. It fell off the top of the fridge, and the outer bowl cracked. Just cracked. Not exploded in a million plastic shards. Definitely will be buying this again. So right out of the box, I was happy with how light it was. The locks are VERY easy to open and close. The bottom has a non-slip ring that actually works. The handle to spin is large, and requires very little force. Draining is easy-peasy, and no longer must I fear my hands will go “asdahlg” and I’ll drop everything in the damn sink. The little screw cap that holds the piece that spins to the lid is large enough to keep a grip on, but it took me a few seconds to get it lined up properly. All pieces are light enough to hand-wash without fear of dropping them. Now actual usage. I make roasted broccoli that’s amazing. I used the spinner basket as a strainer, so as I was cutting it I just plopped the florets right in there, then rinsed away. It needs to be as dry as possible. This was always a colossal pain, and took a lot of energy. I spun it for probably about 30 seconds, and it was perfect. After draining, I dumped the broccoli right back in the plastic bowl and BOOM. Mixed up everything right in there and had one less dish to wash, (which also takes a lot of energy.)TL;DR: If you have problems holding things or standing for long periods of time that food prep can take, buy this.

I have owned many salad spinners over the years mostly the ones with the pull string that constantly breaks and I have had to replace many times. I kept purchasing the same one because I could get them at the local Walmart. I ordered this and have since been very impressed with it. It spins all the water out with little effort, there is a built in training function so you don’t have to take the lid off everytime you spin it out, perfect size for multiple fruits and vegetables and great price! The only con that I have found so far is that it is very hard to keep it level on the counter while spinning. There is a thin “grip” around the bottom but it doesn’t truly hold the spinner in place. You have to hold with one hand and spin with the other, no a huge deal once you get used to it.All in all, I would highly recommend this product!

I love this salad spinner! I was looking for one that was big and not lime green. I make jar salads on Sundays for the week and this holds enough lettuce for 3 days worth. When we have side salads there are pretty big so I like that it has enough room. For reference, I can fit 2 large romaine heads in at once.. I love the locking handles. I saw several reviews that mentioned that there was no brake on it but after using it, it’s not really that difficult to stop it. I’ve only hand washed it because in the past when I put any kind of salad spinner in the dishwasher, they warp just enough to cause issues.

This salad spinner is handsome, gets the job done, can be washed in the dishwasher AND the bowl is attractive enough to use as a server.

I was super excited to receive this salad spinner after using a friends Pampered Chef one. The inside basket came warped. I didnβt think it would cause too much of an issue but it sure does! Spinning the thing is super hard with tons of resistance and the whole bowl shakes uncontrollably. Iβm so mad that I threw the box away prematurely cause Iβd definitely return it if I could.
