I have used other brands of battery operated grinders in the past, and they would constantly get stuck while trying to grind. These do a far superior job of giving a consistent fine grind, without the hassles of the mechanism getting stuck all the time. I really wish I could give these 5 stars…That said, the dumb design of the battery compartment more or less makes it impossible to use rechargeable batteries. Battery compartments are supposed to use spring connectors for the negative (-) end of the battery, and there should be some kind of flat connector for the positive (+) tip of the battery. Unfortunately, the design here uses ALL SPRINGS internally, for both the – and + ends of the battery. This effectively means that the spring is not ever coming into contact with the nub at the tip of the battery, but is instead wrapping all the way AROUND the tip and coming into contact with the surface of the battery behind the tip. On alkaline batteries that have an all metal top, this will still function, but with rechargeable batteries that only expose the nub and otherwise have protective plastic surrounding the top end of the battery, this means that it’s impossible for the + end of rechargeable batteries to come into contact with the spring, and so the grinders will not function.

Highly recommend this set. I picked these up to make seasoning food easier on the wrists, boy were we amazed. So much that we bought three more sets for housewarming gifts. Batteries last pretty well, grinders have size adjustment and they have lights on the bottom so you can see… particularly comes in handy with the salt. Grab these, you don’t need to spend bookoo bucks. These are amazing!

Not the quality I expected, metal is thin and cheap. The top cap screws on but sits crooked, not very tight closure. Built in light while grinding is very dim, not helpful. The rubber caps under the grinder keep falling off when unit is picked up, don’t snap on tightly. It has adjustable size grinds, fine to coarse which is nice. The acrylic reservoir is helpful.

The grinders work ok. The salt grinder has been awesome with no issues. The grind is easily adjustable and stays adjusted. I use a fine grind for salt. The pepper mill seems like it could use a little more power. The output is fine, but it sounds labored at times grinding the pepper. I use a medium grind on the pepper. Don’t rely on the led light to provide any illumination to help you out. Maybe in total darkness it would help, but that’s’ all. It’s just not that bright. So far two months in they are working fine.

I love these grinders. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I forget to take off the bottom when I grind my salt or pepper. When I cook, I want to just pick it up and push the button. These come with a rubber cap on the bottom that you have to take off before you grind. I have taken mine off, because I wanted 1-handed ease. They work great, but…

I have neuropathy in my hands that makes it hard to hold traditional salt and pepper grinders. These are slender enough for me to hold onto and the push button on top makes it very easy to use when I’m cooking. I like them so much, I’m ordering a second set for myself and another a a gift.

I absolutely love these! They even shine a light on your food, which I didnt realize when I bought them. So tired of trying to get just the right grind, getting the hand grinder to work, having to shake it, etc. This makes my life so easy and they work like a dream. Would def buy again.
