This is the second set of Henckels knives that We have owned. The quality and craftsmanship is second to none with easy maintenance and sharpening with the provided steel. We have had our original set for 7 years now and it will be moving to our RV as it is still complete and in great shape. Both my wife and I are avid cooks and good knives are a must. We have had several other brands and nothing we have had has performed and held up as well as Henckles.As stated in another review “I suggest you really consider how you use your knives and the features you want, then check out the website for the set or individual pieces you may want or need.”We have and will continue to recommend Henckles to all of our friends and family.Please note The knives are dishwasher safe but recommended to hand wash. We hand wash ours to preserve the integrity of the handle that could other wise because of the high heat and types of detergents used in dishwashers discolor and disfigure the handle. The edges could become dull from banging or rubbing against other cutlery or dishes.

Bought this set for my wife who has suffered too long with indifferent quality kitchen cutlery. Purchased this based on the Henckels reputation and the selection of knives. Fit and finish are wonderful, they came razor sharp, and the early “test drives” have been very positive. Clearly proper maintenance is needed but quality cutlery takes some care. They should last forever . . .

The knife block set is well worth the investment. I especially appreciate the balance of the chef knife. I tried to save money on my last set but the knives were so flimsy and awkward to use that I would go back to using my Smart and Final, tried and true, chef knife. This set looks great on my counter; I don’t have to reach into the drawer for the Smart and Final knife. It will be “retired”.

Really happy with this purchase! These do not feel inexpensive and are a tremendous upgrade for me. I waited for a decent deal, and I’m so happy for the price paid. They are sharp! They have a good weight to them, and they are comfortable to hold. I almost paid 3x as much for another set and I’m glad I didn’t.I’m not a chef but I am a pretty decent cook and I needed something that would last a long time. This is it.
