I’ve been cooking for 4 decades now and these are , hands down, the best mits I have ever used. Heat protection is excellent without sacrificing dexterity, and when pouring a the contents of a boiling pot into a strainer you are protected from steam and water soaking through. Alternately, I can hold a grip on a pot thumb top, fingers bottom clamping the lid with a offset gap to strain boiling water without fear of burning my hands. Also perfect to hold down a smoking hot large cut of meat while carving, and then just rinse em off.

After over two years of regular use, I still love these oven mitts. Being silicone instead of fabric, they are more slippery than you might be used to. However, if you pay attention, it is easy to get the hang of using them, and the silicone is far superior for its durability, heat resistance, and ease of cleaning. I would buy another pair, but they hold up so well that I may never have to! Instead I just buy them as gifts for others.
