This can opener works very well. I really like that it engages automatically. Just set it on the edge and one turn clockwise and the cutter is engaged. When youβre done one turn counter clock wise and it disengages. Love it. It also has small built in jaws that will grab the lid for you. My wife really likes that feature. Materials are solid, and seems well built. That last one we had was difficult to position (especially for my kids), and required that you squeeze two sides of the handle together to clamp onto the can. Iβm not going to miss it. I can definitely recommend this opener.

Does a nice job. Works much better. Have tried at least 4 new touted manual ones before getting this one. All of those failed in one way or another. Takes a bit of practice at first if you are used to many of the ones that cut from the top. This one cuts from the side. Smooth cut, no burs. Follow the directions on how to start.

I bought it as a replacement for a much older version from 10+ years ago. I was totally happy with the old one, but oddly, it just disappeared so I needed a replacement, hopefully the same one I had previously. This new version is made slightly different, but I like it just as much. The feature it offers that differs from other brands is the pincers that allow you to get hold of the lid and lift it from the can. I have a more expensive Rosle opener that operates on the same principle, but it’s horrible and there are many cans it simply will not open. This Kuhn Rikon opener easily opens pretty much every can I try it on, with no sharp edges and it’s a bonus that the opener doesn’t get dirty like the sharp edge style does. For those negative reviews that say this opener doesn’t work, I’d say they haven’t read the directions properly. It works effortlessly and easily once you know what the instructions say (on the back of the package, so read it before you throw it away!). Great opener, definite 5 stars.

It is a bit confusing to use after decades of using the old crank style opener but this opener is pretty awesome. Cuts well and does what it says it will do. Glad I bought it.

This opens cans cleanly by cutting from the side rather than on top of the can lid. No more can lids falling into the can or not being cut cleanly. The little gripper allows lifting off the can lid after it is cut. And because of the way it cuts, the opener does not get dirty. Best handheld can opener I’ve used.

Wanted a easy to use can opener that didn’t cut the lid and this is it. Read the directions. Just align the notches and you’re good to go. Even the built-in lid lifter works!

Removing label paper at the top of every can is not ease of use. But, it misses a full depth of cut by that paper thickness.Otherwise, a nice cutter

I’ve had mine for years and it works amazing still. Just bought a second one as a gift. I love how easy it is and that it doesn’t create jagged edges. I had an electronic can opener that I ended up giving away because this one is so much better!
