This li and jar opener is very sturdy and versatile. Not only does it work on various sized of lids. I bought it to open my tubs of oil, acrylic and watercolor tubs of paint; it works beautifully. I also us it to open containers of glue. I buy glue by the gallon & pour that glue into smaller, easier to control the flow, containers. The glue often fuses the covers shut making them often very difficult to open; but this opener makes short work of opening those fused shut containers.

I have a lid that was stuck shut on a blender cup. We tried soaking it, 2 people trying to open it at the same time, but we just couldnβt get a grip on it.I thought it was permanently cemented closed. As soon as these arrived, I am grabbed that cup put it around the lid and with a very simple twist was able to free the lid from the cup. Amazing!!I may never have to ask my husband to open a pickle jar again!!

I bought this to replace one that we broke trying to open a bottle of champagne after having them for over ten years. The only difference with this opener is the handles are metal so I donβt expect they will break. They work on various size bottles and jars. If youβre not very strong, these will help immensely. Worth the price, too.

They work well enough, but there is more flex in the handle than there should be. If I squeeze too hard I feel like I’m going to break it.

I had to send back. Bought the item to help open jars and lids as I am aging, have arthritis, lost of strength in my hands, my hands are small – so all together I really needed the help. I like to be self sufficient so I don’t ask others for help for such little things (paint my house, repair my roof – yeah!) This item was far too big for my hand. It opens wide for the jar but that is too wide for my hand, let alone hold the jar steady with the other and protect the lid, there is no cushion for your lid/jar, possibly scratching or breaking should you slip – which is highly likely. I needed something that would close around it somehow so the handle is not so far appart like. An oil filter wrench thingies comes to mind. I just couldn’t get my hand on both ends, it would require 2 people to use it. Packaging was awful, the hang tag was off and the item and tag were shoved in a plastic bag. It wasn’t even sealed. Obviously someone else returned theirs too and I wound up with it. Well, for a short time anyhow. I don’t mind purchaseing a product that us a return, just let me know that is what I am getting and allow me a choice.. Overall I didn’t find it useful. Perhaps for a younger person or one with large hands- but where’s the sense in that?

I purchased this item thinking I would only use it once in a Blue Moon.It became as useful as a can opener.Jars, bottles, corks… no more spending time on tricks involving hot water to open resistant lids.Keep this item next to your can opener where it will be easy to grab when needed.
