I have been buying similar timers at the dollar store. For 75 cents more this is so much better. This has an on/off switch to save your battery life, larger numbers, and magnetic backing.

As far as the timer itself, it works fine. however….Cons: it’s pretty loud and there is no volume button. Since I use them with kids, I sometimes cover the speaker holes just before the time is up just to muffle the sound a little.Magnets – I loved the fact that they have magnets but would love if they actually worked. They are pretty week. I put them on a white board and they slide down at different speeds. My kids love to put them on the board and do timer races to see which one will get to the bottom first.PRO: counts forward and back which I love-has an on/off switch on the side-has a flip down bar to allow it to stand on its own.If you’re using as a kitchen timer or something else where you may leave the room, then I do recommend this timer. The volume is loud.If your using for your kids, students, classroom type setting, you may want to see if their is a quieter timer or one that has value.And don’t rely on the magnet part, i purchased the 6 pack and all 6 slide down.

I have these all over the house. If one of my kids want to do something they must do something educational for a certain time period. These timer can be set by the kids and easy to understand for all. These timers are a must have in our home and yours once you purchase them. Amazing deal and buy.
