First of all, I have to say that I have bought 5 knife sets in my whole life, and all of them have lasted me a lot, except the previous one, which was a nice view set with a glass block, but the grip was hiding the awful truth of a bad quality knife (Almost no blade inside the grip), and lasted me less than a year. That was the first thing I noticed with this set, the blade has a good thickness, and is visible through the grip (I’m not going to buy again a knife set with a grip hiding the blade), the weight is good, not too light and not too heavy, the blades are really sharp, and the sharpener is good enough.About the knifes I have tested all of them and must say my appreciations from an amateur point of view:1. Chef’s knife: I’m in love with this one, is the heaviest of all for obvious reasons, but I have worked a lot with it and I’m not getting tired, good curvature and the angle of the blade is good for chopping, I normally use the santoku for chopping, but the angle of this one invited me to use it a bit more for it, it is perfect to get good slices of meat and turkey (Second pic).2. Santoku: The veggies expert, is the one I love to get small slices of veggies and meat, it is very accurate for that kind of tasks, normally is my favorite in the kitchen, but now this baby shares that spot with the chef’s knife.3. Bread knife: I have tested it with baguette and cake and passed the test, personally this is an almost unused knife in my kitchen, but it is needed in a knife set.4. Carving knife: Good length and angle, the tip is perfect to rise that particular spots in the meat, good to take off the fats and nerves from the meat, and good for slicing big fruits.5. Utility: Nice for small veggies and peeling, but be careful with the blade, is the most underestimated, but it have given me some minor cuts.6. Paring knife: Not the most loved for me, I believe is too small and is only good for peeling small veggies and good for small hands (As you can see in the third pic), but my wife loves it, so it depends on your hand’s size.7. Scissors: I’m not so excited about the scissors, tbf I have a couple of chicken scissors and are better than this one, I expected more from it, they are too heavy and the opening angle is too wide, they have a good grip, but they are designed only for big hands, so they are perfect for me, but my wife can’t use them (You can see the opening angle in the last pic).8. Steak knives: Great knives, I have some serrated knives from tramontina which are my favorites for steaks, but I gave it a try last week and were perfect, I love the cut from these knives instead of the serrated, because I love the clean cut and they are sharp enough for that particular duty.9. The block and the sharpener are just OK, but they are good for the price. The overall quality has surprised me so far, 15 pc set is just enough, the 19 pc set has 2 more small knives (Bread and santoku) and I don’t think they will be as useful as the big ones, the only thing I like from the 19pc set is the sharpener rod which I believe is better than the integrated sharpener from this one, but it was not enough to give it a try.

I just received these knives today. They are beautiful, elegant and very sharp right out of the box! Packaged well and looking forward to using these. I would love to give these 5 stars but the block that was sent with mine has an issue with the slots for each knife. I used the diagram given in the pamphlet accompanied with the knife set and the 5″ Santoku Knife does not fit in it’s designated slot. So I switched out the 8″ bread knife with it and now the knives fit. Photo attached shows the middle knife (5″ Santoku Knife) not fitting correctly. The 8″ bread knife is to the right of it and I swapped them. I am not picky where the knives go, just thought I should mention it in case anyone else has had this issue.

This knife set is of very good quality and it is stainless steel but it will rust in spots so it’s important to dry each piece after washing them by hand right away. They are not Dish washable safe. It comes with a sharpener on the block and it’s important to sharpen each piece after each major use to keep them sharp like new. If you do all of this then it’s a good knife set to buy. I got two sets and they stay sharp almost like new.

I have struggled with knives for years. This set has been well worth the money. The sizes/styles are great. Cut without effort. This is the second set we have, the first one came with our up north cabin, I bought a second set for our home.

These are nice knives, I find. They came sharp, and cut very well. They are also durable. However these are absolutely NOT dishwasher safe. They WILL rust if you run them through a power dishwasher. That said, they are easy to hand clean because the design is very well fitted, so if you’re willing to take the extra time to take care of these knives, they will definitely take care of you. There’s a good selection of knives available, that isn’t constraining but isn’t so wide either, as if to do the most with the least possible. These knives match quality and price.
