Bought this magnetic knife holder to solve three problems. I own multiple expensive Shun Classic Japanese kitchen knives. I was in the habit of laying knives down on my large Boos cutting board or on my kitchen counter. This poses two dangers and one inconvenience: (1) I might knock a knife off on to the floor damaging an expensive knife and (2) I might accidentally cut myself with a knife laying near where I’m working. And finally (3) Knives laying on the work space take up the very limited workspace I have in my kitchen. My one concern when I bought the stainless magnetic knife holder was the it might scratch the Damascus steel finish on my Shun Classic knives. Had the bar about a month now and I’m not seeing any scratches as a result of using the bar. It has a very smooth finish. It’s also much more efficient to quickly use the knive I need and put it back when I need another knife. It also looks great in the kitchen.

Great product! I read some not so good reviews about this, but found that they didn’t apply to the product I have in my possession. The magnet is strong and the knives only wobble depending on the overall weight distribution. I read one review that said that the inside of the knife bar was made up of multiple magnets. Mine has only one magnet. My only advice before buying this is to use a 12 inch ruler as a guide to see if it’ll hold the number of knives you have.

Very easy to install and holds up well! It did fall once but I feel that’s due to the cold temp in my house with winter here and everything. After reinstalling with a stronger adhesive (I believe my hubby used gorilla tape) it’s been fine. It looks nice and saves so much space, and it’s convenient that everything is ‘out’ and about for me to just grab when needed instead of having to rustle through cupboards or drawers yet it’s still organized and out of the way. Great and cannot recommend enough!

Refrigerator mounted, height shown twixt countertop & upper cabinet, space-saving, barely noticeable yet easily accessible from adjacent work area and feels safe when mounted with sharp blade edge toward backsplash (reversed for this photo only); esthetically much more pleasing with knife handles up; just the right amount of magnetic strength to hold bar and knives in place and yet release knives without requiring use of a pry bar.

My wife & I have always purchased quality condiments for the kitchen in our lives. If we thought we couldn’t afford it, we’d wait, save until we had the money to make the (quality) purchase. Copperware when in France, Wusthoff cutlery in Germany, Breville at Williams Sonoma to whatever. Where I’m going with this is, to hang these “generational” purchases, we wanted something (magnet bar) that would secure those $$ knives (cutlery). I don’t usually “stump” for a purchase , but these are quality (match SS fridge, stove, etc) & powerful. And the price, don’t even think about passing it up (got two). Really sets off our Ft Myers,FL condo kitchen. (After Ian, we appreciate these little things). And I might add, we’ve had other magnet bars & the inherent fear is that the knives would release when slightly bumped & would test the reflexes (to avoid being impaled). Just take the plunge.

Strong as can be, remove the back piece of metal used if mounting and stick right to the side of the fridge. I have a similar one that I got tired of because it was week and knives would move or fall, I only have 4 knives but they cost a few hundred dollars each so I used to curse every time one would slide or fall off. That’s not a thing here, so happy with my purchase, cus I love my knives.

We wanted to clear up counter space in the kitchen so my husband installed the 16 inch version of this knife holder. The magnet is surprisingly strong so I don’t worry about the knives falling off, it was easy to install, fits the space, and I love the way it looks.

My wife loves this magnetic knife bar. She took it out of the box and per the instructions removed the back metal piece and stuck it right onto the refrigerator, which is next to the stove where she does her cooking and most of the food prep. She took the knives out of the drawers they were in and PRESTO! They are now no longer taking precious drawer space. There are 8 knives on it, hanging high enough to keep any little folks from reaching them. The magnet is very strong and holds extremely well. Recommend this product.
