It had become more difficult and painful to open jars and bottles. I’d never heard of these, but a friend mentioned that her home came with one installed, and that it made opening jars a breeze. I checked out various models here on Amazon, looking for a quality product which would not need to be replaced, and chose this. I’m glad I did. It works like a breeze – so easily that the first few times I used it, I thought I might not have gotten the lid far enough into it, but the lids, which had been too tight for me to budge, were not only loosened, but loose. I bought a jar opener like this one 25 or 30 years ago and I still use it and all my family, when they come over for BBQ’s, use it and it still works. So I bought one for my daughter as a house warming gift and she loves it.

Despite weight, installation is very easy with the provided Phillips screws which are the correct length to avoid penetration through into the cabinet interior. A battery powered screwdriver makes it a 60 second job with no need for the included adhesive pads although many may find them handy. Lid opener itself is very rugged and performs flawlessly. Well worth the extra few dollars IMHO.

I have arthritis in my hands . This jar opener works so well. The construction is very well made also. Love that it fits under the cabinets. Happy I can open anything myself .
