I picked this model because I am new to making pasta. I just wanted a basic machine without bells and whistles and I didnt want to spend any more money than I would on a nice dinner out. The last thing I wanted was a fancy machine that took up space or an expensive machine that I kick myself for buying then only using once. Face it, Great great great great grandma was making pasta before Jesus and all she had was a rolling pin and a knife. So, I get the machine, pulled out an old plastic tablecloth, clamped the thing down to the table, did a little youtube research, found some water based pasta dough to use as “play dough” to practice a bit and BOOM! I became a nonnina! Which is weird because first of all I’m not Italian and secondly I’m a man.Turns out the equipment was a little dusty but that is why they recommend you discard the first pass of dough anyway.Once I got the hang of it the nonnina problem resolved itself and i decided to try a masculine dish (Jaime Oliver’s sausage Carbonara). I used an egg based pasta recipe and POOF! I was transported back in time to my childhood in Bologna…So aside from the magical transformation issue this machine is a no frills clamp it down, turn the crank, flatten your pasta deal. It is not going to win an award for precision engineering, it isnt made from titanium, it’s held to the table with a C-clamp, you gotta hold your mouth right when you turn the handle or it will wiggle out in your hand. The cutters will make angel hair and fettuccini. The REAL magic is the fresh pasta. It’s like the difference between fresh baked, warm artesian bread and packaged pre-sliced supermarket bread. That loveliness comes from the attention to the dough making process and the pasta cooking method not the machine that flattens the dough or cuts the noodles. What? you wanna fancy expensive machine because you think you Mario Batali (Giada DeLaurentis)? Eh, fugget about it.

I use my pasta machine for Polymer clay. I have a couple issues that I just don’t love about it. The handle will just fall out of the hole and can be annoying. The gears started grinding shortly after using it and sometimes tiny metal shavings get into the clay. Also, I find it hard to clean completely but maybe thats just user error. Also the rollers eill leave streaks on the clay sometimes so you have to smooth that off before continuing. Overall it’s a good starter machine, but because of the metal shavings I personally wouldn’t suggest this for food useage.

Iβm happy with it but be careful of the tiny metal flakes

Easy to use. The handle does not stay on but that is a common feature of all pasta makers I’ve used. Clamp it down, crank away, and pasta for days.

Great starter, I’m sure there are better one but this is great. I bought mine, loved it so much I’ve given as a give to 4 friends and family. They all love them and use them often. I am thanked regularly by them all for this. It’s the gift that keeps giving.

It does the job but it’s not great to use, the handle keeps slipping out when I turn it. Otherwise it works with the dough well, I got even noodles every time and it didn’t gum up.
