I researched a bunch of different scales via reputable website comparison reviews, and customer reviews. I’ll save you that time and just tell you to buy this one! It’s accurate, sleek, super easy to read display, and quick to switch measurements or zero out the scale if you’re continually adding things to a single plate. What I really love is how you can pull out the display screen – I didn’t realize how often I would use that feature. Great product.

I’ve resisted buying this scale for several years due to the price, however I bake a lot of bread and use wide bowls that impair reading the display on other, cheaper scales. I love the pull-out display feature and feel it’s worth the price just to get that. I checked accuracy with laboratory standard weights and it’s accurate, although I would have appreciated a display carried out to one additional numeral. The scale fits nicely in a drawer and changes easily between grams/kilos and pounds/ounces. The pull-out display is the reason to buy this. I find no design or build deficiencies to complain about.

Scale top snaps off for easy clean, pull out display is a must especially for measuring with large bowls and plates, what most people don’t know is that most scales are good at measuring a specific incrament, this one does pounds best and ounces pretty well. But if you’re trying to measure ounces with high accurace like for measuring herbs and spices get a second scale. This is the best scale I’ve found for measuring major ingredients.

Got this because most scales have this infuriating feature of turning themselves off if the weight doesn’t change for half a minute, losing the tare. This one does switch off its display after a good while but doesn’t lose its tare, and I’ve been very happy with that.I thought the pull-out feature was good until I discovered the hole for the wire was a place stuff can get into the instrument if you’re not careful. Also the measure jumps around a bit suggesting the accuracy is actually a little worse than 1 gram. I find myself wanting something with more precision for measurements of 10g or less.

I bought this product because my previous food scale – also an OXO 11-pound scale – finally gave up the ghost after nearly 10 years. That alone is reason enough to me to buy another one. That aside, I did look into other brands, just to see what other features might be available, but I still came back to this one. The stainless steel, removal plate and removable display are features I have come to expect and enjoy using, and other brands I looked at just didn’t have all that. This newer model seems to be even more accurate in its measurements as my favorite recipes are turning out even better, which I didn’t even think was possible. If you are on the fence about which food scale you should get, my recommendation is the OXO 11-pound food scale. It has been a reliable product for years, and I expect this one to continue that quality!
