I’ve used OXO plastic cutting boards for over 10 years. They do need to get replaced occasionally because the cut grooves can trap bacteria. The cut marks aren’t necessarily a bad thing – if the surface is too hard, you ruin the knives. In any case, I blindly clicked a link by Serious Eats while ordering things for my new apartment, and didn’t realize that these are smaller than the OXO board that I had previously. This size is fine for chopping an apple as a snack, but it would be really annoying to trying to prep anything bigger than a handful or two of stuff on this surface. If space is limited, this might have to do – chop a carrot one at a time, transfer to a bowl. I like a little more room, personally. I don’t think I could break up a whole chicken on this size board.

Our old plastic cutting boards gave good service, but after 10-15 years the thin ones are warped and all cut up. And they *always* slid around in use. These don’t slide, thanks to little feet on both sides. The short rubberized edges (with the little feet) are bevelled in opposite directions, so they’re easier to pick up than the old ones. One side is grooved, so the juice drips less on my counter. And while they seem somewhat harder than the old boards, they do indeed mark when cut upon. Like they’re supposed to, so as not to dull my knives.I like these because they’re easier to maintain than wood (I’m not their only user), they don’t slide around, they’re grooved one side, and I can pick a size to suit the task (just chopped over a pound of habaneros for drying).I’ve had good experiences with the Oxo brand in the past; superior, though not elegant (or pricey). These fit my expectations (and ain’t much does, nowadays!)

These aren’t up to par with a real, thick, wooden cutting board.I think we all know that. However, they do make place to hold stuff once it’s been cut.I’ve tried cutting on these and the knife goes right into it, scratching it pretty badly. For the cost, these are great though.

Good quality and durable. Fresh cut carrots tend to stain and difficult to remove that stain.

These are the best boards I had. Durable, easy to clean, don’t absorb any color or smell. The silicone edges allow it to stay fixed to the counter without moving during the cutting.Highly recommended!

All of the eight prep “chefs” gave these boards a ten all around at our weeklong Thanksgiving food preparation.

The best cutting boards. Have bought them for myself and others!

These were highly reviewed and I needed new cutting boards so I got them. I like the sizes, although I use the small way more often and tend to choose a larger board than this one when I’m cutting up larger things or quantities. The nonslip is good. I usually choose the side without the drip groove because it makes the board much smaller and I usually don’t see the advantage of it.I really dislike the sound they make though. It’s almost as bad as a knife on glass. I assume they’re okay for my knives and they’re probably more cut resistant, but the sound is grating. Somewhere between clank and clack. Because of that I wouldn’t get them again.
