I’ve been using this model for HVAC for maybe five years now. It is very accurate. I’ve tested it against high end temp meters, other thermometers, boiling water. It needs to be accurate for charging ACs and it is.The first one I had lasted for years until I dropped it(for the 20th time) and the button broke. Then I ordered a new one and it came with a broken button. I exchanged it and the button broke again after 3 months. Looking closer at the button, it’s just two little plastic tabs that seem to push down on the battery. If one of those breaks, it’s toast. Anyways, I emailed oxo(past Amazon’s return date) and they sent me a new one right away. No strings attached. I wish I had more faith in the button, but at least Oxo takes care of you.

I have purchased many different brands of instant read thermometers & this one stands out. The biggest issue I had was the battery. On other models, the battery compartment opened with a teeny tiny phillips screwdriver, which I don’t have & don’t feel I should have to buy. This one you turn with a coin to open, easy peasy! The readout is awesome & the swivel head is a nice feature.

Worked great till it got wet. Be careful washing it.

Works well & simple to use, just eats up the battery pretty quickly. Had to replace the battery after only using it maybe twice a week for a couple months.

As a professional cook, I broke the on/off button within 2 weeks of use. Whoops. The case on it has some great temperature guidelines which I love. The on/off button I mentioned is right on top of the whole thing and I must have subjected it to rigorous stress because it became stuck after a short while. Completely my fault for working too hard. Great thermometer though, usually reads in about 7-10 seconds.

This is really easy for me to see without my reading glasses. The fact that the head tilts is also useful to check the food at different angles. So far it is a fairly accurate.

Itβs a very useful thermometer and easy to read. The hinge allows the screen to be rotated to an ideal position for viewing. That said, I rated it 3 stars because it has no water resistance whatsoever. If you accidentally submerge or run it under the faucet itβs done. I donβt recommend it for that reason.
