The price is good. The fact that it comes loaded with fair quality peppercorns is a bonus. It works. It’s a stout little mill but there’s nothing fancy about this product. The adjustments allow one to get either half chunks of peppercorn or an acceptably fine grind of pepper. I keep mine turned to the finest setting. It will not work for any other spice. I’ve tried everything from salt to nutmeg and there’s no denying this thing is only useful for pepper. It’s easy to use and easy to clean. I recommend it for what it is and nothing more- a peppermill. Enjoy your purchase!

I chose this one b/c it rated well with America’s Test Kitchen. I love that it’s upright, easy to hold, and easy to turn. It’s very much a space saver; I like that it’s not too big or tall. I do like that it has a lot of different grind settings and that it’s clear to read. My one gripe is that the finest setting really isn’t that fine. The mill I had before was a much finer grind and barely had any big chunks, whereas this one has a lot.I also didn’t like that it came prefilled. I just didn’t really trust that. I dumped it, washed it, then filled it with my own peppercorns.

This is a daily use item for us, even though I have an electric grinder too. Being able to adjust the grind size is fabulous. My only gripe is that is sometimes hard to twist the lid on and off. I’m pretty sure pepper grinds have gotten into the grooves and that’s the only reason.10/10.*I honestly am unsure if it can tackle harder things like salt, but black peppercorns are no hassle at all.

Pepper grinder is easy to fill and use. Love that you have to flip it over to grind so that you donβt end up with a bunch of ground pepper on the stove or counter when you turn it back over. Also love that you can see how much is left and thus know when to refill. It seems well-made (itβs an OXO brand) and should last a while.

This grinder works really well for my use. I can control the grind of the salt that I use for cooking. I really love the grip of the product and the fact that it sits upside down when not in use-no powder on my counter.

I havenβt need to adjust the grind much but Iβm pleased with how smoothly this grinder works. One reviewer commented that it didnβt come in a box; true, but the grinder was sealed adequately.

These work great. Misplaced the first one, bought a second one, then found it. So we will use one for salt. This one, however, has a gray plastic finish rather than the stainless steel & black finish of our first one. Thus four stars. It just ticked me off a tiny bit.

Despite the grinder mechanism being a knob instead of a crank it is surprisingly easy to turn, perfectly fine for peppering a serving, but if you need a tablespoon or two for a recipe, it will take a while. Two reasons prevent it from being five-stars. With the narrow base it topples easily when reached for on the counter and there is not a lot of difference between the coarse and fine settings.
