I was torn between this OXO food mill and the one that’s very highly rated that costs about $20 less. I’m so glad I got this one. It works with almost every pot in my kitchen, and the foldout legs grip the edges quite well. I wasn’t sure I’d like the way it goes together, but it is fantastic. The post of the turning mechanism does not have to be screwed in; what holds it in place is the latches on either side of the stabilizing cross bar at the top. These release easily for cleaning, and I love how easy it is to turn the handle both clockwise and counterclockwise to grind up and easy-release the food. The three different grinding plates are so easy to put in and take out…just be mindful that you need to align the indentations in the bowl with the indentations on the plates. Everything should clean up well in the dishwasher, but I’ll probably only put the grinding parts in the dishwasher, and then only if they don’t rinse off easily. It’s easy enough to just rinse the bowl that holds them at the sink after use.I have wanted a food mill for so long, and I’m so glad this OXO one is the one I chose.

I use this OXO food mill to process fresh tomatoes. It’s excellent at getting out the seeds and separating unwanted tomato skins from the pulp.I don’t know if there are better options.I’ve used it to process tomatoes and to make applesauce. It worked well. It might be considered tricky getting it together, but it got easier with each use. It’s quality manufactured, very easy to clean and can also be washed in the DW. (I think.).The thing about OXO is that they’re not going to sell junk because they have an excellent reputation to protect. I always feel comfortable buying their brand. This food mill is as good as all the OXO products I’ve purchased and I recommend it.

It works OK but it is clunky and makes an oozy, annoying mess when attempting to rice potatoes and necessitates a lot of scraping with a spatula over, under, inside and out while processing. The fold out legs are a nice feature, however and allow for use with a variety of different sizes of containers or bowls. On the fence about returning because a ricer makes much quicker, easier and neater work of prepping boiled potatoes for gnocchi with less mess and waste.

I have had a Foley food mill for 45 years. Solid but showing lots of wear after all these years. OXO Good Grips has some nice features so I decided to give it a try. The three screens are the key to this food mill. They insert easily, produce 3 gradations, and then clean up quickly. Assembly and disassembly are simple. The quality is excellent and the stainless steel should last a long time. The outside has a white coating so I will be interested to see how durable it is. One precaution – the stainless steel has a mirror finish. Very attractive but avoid cleanup using the rough side of scrubbing sponges – cloth and other soft materials only unless you want to see the scratches. The only drawback is that I wish it has a larger bowl capacity.

Our first venture into canning tomato sauce (productive garden) was made easier by having this food mill. Everything was consistently milled and product was fairly easily cleaned. Very little left behind other than seeds and minimal skins. Have yet to try on other foods. Turned easily, is of sturdy construction. Legs fold in to help storage. Would recommend.

I really didn’t think this was going to work very well, and I figured it would be a nightmare to clean, but it was priced well, so I thought I’d try it. I am really glad I did!I was able to process 2 bushels of apples in a day thanks to this. I now have apple sauce and apple butter, and I am not STILL PEELING those apples. Can also be used for tomatoes (to remove seeds, skins) for making sauce.

This food mill is well designed and sturdy. I made a ton of applesauce this fall, and it made short work of that job.
