   this a an excellent tool for slicing potatoes. DO NOT start slicing a potato with your fingers thinking you will then use the push tool once the potato reduces in size … this tool is more than razor sharp. You’ve been warned.I had to remove the tray and cut away some plastic so that the opening would make thicker slices (the 3mm setting was too thin for my liking). Other than that, I would have given it 5 stars easy.Not to OXO, if you retool the machines that make this item, can you add one or two more thicker settings?

   If you are like me, sometimes you don’t need your Mac-Truck sized mandolin.This is perfect for something like a single potato, onion, squash or zucchini–which is what I mostly use it for. Even a ton of garlic. I do wish it had one more size smaller than its smallest three-adjustable settings.It does come with a safety guard. As with any slicer, err on the side of caution. Just because it is small, does not mean its potential to cut through flesh is any less! A mandolin’s razor-sharp cut is difficult to stop bleeding.Be careful when cleaning … I just give mine a quick power spray from the sink and put it in the dishwasher.It’s small size is easy to store and retrieve when needed.

   I got this brand new, washed it and started using it. I even was showing my teenager how to use it because I’m teacher her how to cook. This slicer cuts so well, so well in fact that my daughter needed to go to the ER for stitches on her thumb within 10 minutes of use. I’m not sure if it was user error or a safety feature lapse because I had told her be careful and then turned to do something else and she cut herself.Overall the product is very good at what it’s intended use is just be careful because the blade is very very sharp.

   So far, it’s done what we needed, except for eggplant. It struggled with eggplant, but it turned out ok nonetheless. Just not ideal.

   Bought this tool to slice potatoes for a Thanksgiving dish. Worked incredibly well but I did end up with a huge gash in my pointer finger as it was easy to get carried away. I was not using the knob and guard- my fault. Terrific product but definitely should not be used by a child. Slicing surface is VERY sharp!!

   Bought this for a recipe, easy to use laying across a mixing bowl. The 3 option thickness tabs were easy and the handle made a safe slice as food became small. I used for potatoes and was very happy with the tool.

   I don’t need a mandoline often, and I don’t need something that takes up more space. But occasionally, we could ALL use a mandoline and this one really fits the bill! Slices great and then fits neatly in the kitchen drawer!

   I love the adjustable thickness slicer. That features sets this apart. I was disappointed how easily the white plastic stained, but that is just cosmetic.
