A new spin on our classic design Before the introduction of the OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner in 1998, crank or pull-tab salad spinners were considered high-end products. Some people even used the spin cycle of their washing machine to dry lettuce. Our easy-to-use Spinner transformed the tool into an everyday kitchen essential. Nearly 20 years later, we revisited the Spinner to make some updates while keeping the top features and original inspiration: a childrenβs top. With a modern design that complements contemporary kitchens and an improved brake that stops on a dime every time, we think youβll love our new spin on the classic design. Dry salad greens with a simple press of the soft, non-slip knob. The non-slip base keeps the bowl steady on the countertop, and the updated built-in brake button stops the Salad Spinner for unloading. The basket doubles as a colander, and the lid comes apart for easy cleaning.
- Easy, one handed operation with patented pump mechanism and brake button
- Soft, non slip knob locks down for storage, and a non slip ring and wide base keep bowl steady on countertop
- Elegant, clear bowl is perfect for serving, and basket can be used separately as a colander
- Clear, flat lid allows for convenient stacking when not in use, disassembles for easy cleaning, and parts are top rack dishwasher safe and BPA Free

I think the biggest upside of this product is that it looks super sleek (at least thatβs for the black version, the green one looks a bit tacky to me). Every time there are guests at my house and I want to impress them, Iβd just pull this out.In terms of function, yes, it does the job. However, there are two things you need to know:- You have to push multiple times, until the greens kinda stick to the side of the basket, to wring all the water out.- And no itβs not gonna be completely dry. There would be some moisture to it no matter how much you spin.On to the downside of this salad spinner:- Itβs bulky to pull out, assemble, and clean: Itβs a big size salad spinner so itβs hard to find a spot for it in the cabinet. And for cleaning, I usually just run it through water but it also takes up a lot of space on the dish rack.- Sometimes I just want to make a really quick salad and pulling this out and washing them kinda discourages me (so yeah this stuff isnβt gonna motivate u to eat more greens)- Secondly, water stains: since u only wash these with water, and itβs transparent plastic, thereβll be a lot of water stains which kinda ruin the sleek look. But from afar it looks fine. So if the little things bother you, that’s something to consider.- Lastly, scratches. I never drop it but there happens to be a scratch on the bottom of the bowl. It doesnβt leak water out but it bugs me a bit.So yes, I would recommend this product if you like to have salad or bulk prep your veggies since it will save a lot of time (and your salad will taste much better). But itβs kind of overpriced which I guess is compensated by the sleek design so if u donβt really care about how it looks, there are probably cheaper options out there.

I bought this recently as a way to store chopped lettuce for the salads my wife carries to work. This really does get an incredible amount of water out of the rinsed and chopped lettuce. It also keeps the lettuce crisp and fresh for the week, I can prepare the lettuce on Sunday evening and it is still beautiful on Friday morning. The bowl is amazingly sturdy and crystal clear. I almost opted for the glass bowl over this one but I am well pleased and happy I didn’t pay the premium price.I have seen other reviews comment on the braking system being week or flimsy, but I personally haven’t noticed this after several weeks of use. The pump to actuate the spinning is robust, and you can really feel the torque it applies to the inner colander.I have many OXO kitchen items, so I had no qualms about purchasing this salad spinner, and it definitely matches the quality and ease of use I have always experienced from them.

I was looking for a salad spinner to replace the one that I currently threw away I went to my go-to channel the America test kitchen website and they had a review for salad spinners they rated this one number one so I said let me try it and let me tell you it’s very easy to use three pieces easy to clean dishwasher safe it’s a brand new nose and trust I would get it definitely if you’re into search for one.

When we downsized to an apartment (We are OLD!) I thought I had given my salad spinner away because we went from a large fridge with French doors to a much smaller one and I didn’t think I had room in the fridge for it. My original one LIVED in the fridge! I missed it so much and regretted giving it away so many times that I bought a second one. Last night I discovered the original one stored in the garage so now I have two! I am just saying all this to explain that I loved and missed it so much I decided to buy another one even though we are still cramped for space in our apartment.BTW, I have read several people mention difficulty in storing it when they are not storing lettuce or salad in it in the fridge. At those times, I store mine in my big plastic cake-taker.I am confident I will find someone who will be happy with my second one.

I’ve owned two different crank-style salad spinners in the past; one of which cracked and the other of which warped. They were finicky at best because a small piece of trapped lettuce or too much water would prevent them from spinning.Oxo’s salad spinner is an entirely different story. The first thing that I noticed when I unboxed it was just how sturdy it felt. The plastic bowl seemed to be at least 3x thicker than any other salad spinner bowl that I’ve used. The push spin feels more natural and pleasant to operate than cranking a handle. Even the basket felt durable. When it comes to performance, this thing had no issues coming up to speed and spinning out excess water from my produce. The basket is nicely made so I can spin anything from lettuce leaves to smaller herbs.

Works great, looks great, easy to use and clean. Iβve always avoided making fresh salads because I haaaaate drying lettuce, so I finally decided to try out a spinner and I love it.

I thought I would stack this in the back of a cupboard and use it only once in a while, but it ended up sitting on my counter and being used daily. It’s like a combination of a bowl, a colander and a fun spinning mechanism.

I bought this behemoth salad spinner and hate it! The lettuce once chopped and rinsed gets caught in the sides of the bowl and is a pain in the butt to clean out. What a hassle! I should have kept my smaller one from Sharper Image. Poor design and a lack of testing in my own opinion. Had someone actually cut up lettuce and rinsed it, they may have seen the flaw. The handle to push to spin is not the best, IMO, as it spins fairly slow. You canβt pump fast. Again, I shouldβve kept my old one.
