It was not expensive. Is very easy to use. Measurements are repetitive – same object in same conditions always gives the same reading.I checked the accuracy by weighing objects that came with a reliable measured weight, but I can’t remember what they were. That was 6 years ago.It seems to be accurate over a wide range of weights, from a few grams and up, and has been used to check many things, not only in the kitchen. For example the weight of products, including health products, as they are consumed to see the rate of use. It was very useful in selecting the contents of a backpack for El Camino de Santiago, that contained a wide variety of things, and had to be kept about 7 kg because it was to be carried for 6 weeks on end, over 770 km.The tare function allows for the weighing of objects of very different shapes by putting them on something that fits the top of the scale, like for example plastic containers, and using it to zero the reading after putting them on.The top plate comes of easily for cleaning by just turning it counterclockwise, if I remember well. The only limitation I can think of is the max weight of 5 kg, but that is fine. For heavier thing we use a hand scale of those sold for weighing luggage, and hold them with belts that can later be weighed on the Ozeri to discount them from the reading, but that is rarely necessary.

This is a great scale and I’ve used it for years. I’m only replacing it because it is large and I wanted a small scale for living in my van. After using this for years, I tested weights against my new Wacaco scale and everything reads the same weight to the gram. Most of the sparse negative reviews of this scale complain about accuracy – they say it only weighs to the whole gram or 0.3 oz. As advertised. And like most larger kitchen scales. This was good enough for me to weigh food, camping gear, weed, coffee, and even very carefully estimating 1.75g of shrooms.I am only replacing it because I’d like a smaller scale and I’d like to weigh microdosing. If you don’t mind the size and want to weigh stuff over a few lbs and don’t mind 1g increments, this is a fine scale.Sure, the build quality leaves something to be desired. It’s not a luxury scale. It’s plastic. It functions very well, is extremely easy to use, the battery has lasted for many years. If you aren’t showing it off and just want a cheap scale that works for years and is accurate to 1 gram, I recommend this.

This is the second one of these scales I have owned. After a few years, I got the first one wet and it quit working. That was totally my fault. As I liked the scales, I bought the same model again. The scales is very easy to use and gives several unit options such as ounces, pounds, grams and kilograms. I particularly like the βtareβ option, as this allows me to place a bowl on the pan of the scales, zero it out and weigh such items as flour, directly into the bowl. I have tested its accuracy by weighing a few store bought food items with known weights on the scales. I found that the weight of the item, shown on the scales, is very close to the weight listed on the box or wrapper.I do a lot of canning and freezing of garden products. I found that 13 pounds of tomatoes will fill enough pint jars tor a load in my canner. I can simply weigh my tomatoes and know when I have enough for the canner. I also use my scales when cooking. I have some recipes that give gram amounts, rather than cups. I simply use the scales and weigh my ingredients. These are just some of the many ways I have used these scales. I have found the readings to be accurate and repeatable. For such an inexpensive scales, this is very useful kitchen aid. Do yourself a favor and buy one.

I needed a small scale such as this one. I searched for some reviews, etc. Then I watched a YouTube video from the America’s Test Kitchen show. In addition to all their cooking, they review various kitchen products. From about 8 or so scales they chose this one for all reasons. Mine cost about $11 on Amazon and is just as good as the review I watched. There is no need for overkill on the accessory. I’m pleased with my selection. I think most anyone would too.

My son, 11, has type 1 diabetes and must count his carbs, which we do multiple times daily. We measure and weigh mostly everything daily using this scale. My son can use the scale on his own with no problems. This scale allows us to use bowls and plates and still see the screen. We have only had it for maybe a week, though, so hopefully, it lasts as long as our last scale did.
