The screw up top does not seem to lock (very loose). When we try to set for a coarser grind, it unscrews and pops off, so in order to avoid this – the only setting we were able to manage is screwing the top screw tightly for the only setting, extremely fine grind. We ended buying another grinder for salt and retiring this one to spice grinding. Also, the version I purchased in US is made of very light aluminum. The original salt grinder that I saw in Amsterdam at a restaurant that made me want to buy it was made of solid steel and was twice as heavy and completely different construction. Oh, well…

Typical Peugeuot mill which I purchased for transporting Red Kampot pepper. Fairly consistent grind, but extremely difficult to keep grind adjustment. For a better grind use a Cole & Mason.

This pepper mill is a great tool. It is adjustable and grinds the peppercorns perfectly.

This pepper grinder is very low quality. It looks great, but there’s not a great way to select coarseness of your grind. I’ll definitely be looking for another pepper grinder.

I was delighted to find this product, since I have a pepper mill that matches it perfectly. Only problem I see is when I am grinding the salt out of the mill, the top screw loosens too much. Have to stop, tighten the screw, and continue to obtain more salt from product. Happens every time I use it. Wish that problem could be fixed, the set of mills is squatty, brushed stainless steel and doesn’t take up much room.
