- Made in France. Made of PEFC certified beech wood. Peugeot Mills are partially filled with pepper at the factory in France as part of final assembly and testing. Ready to use.
- The pepper mechanism is equipped with a helix-shaped double row of teeth for a perfect grind. Patented treatment protects the steel from corrosion while maintaining its sharpness and wear resistance.
- Classic grind adjustment: turn the top knob tighter (clockwise) for finer grinds; looser (counter-clockwise) for coarser grinds.
- Releases maximum flavor and aroma by first cracking each peppercorn before it is ground

This pepper mill can produce a nice dusting of pepper, but there is a strange design flaw. The knob for adjusting your grind is on the top, but it also holds the lid on. As I grind clockwise, the knob starts loosening. So I have to keep tightening the knob to keep the grind consistent, and to keep its lid on! For the price, I expected better quality.

great grinding mechanism, nice appearance differentiates it from most other pepper mills

Grinds very finely! Love that because my OXO grinder is too course for the kids. The salt grinder by this brand, however, does NOT grind finely. Would stick with OXO for salt and this one for pepper (which makes for an unsightly match).

Recommend. No problem getting the pepper ground fine or a little coarser.

This pepper mill works much smoother than the plastic mill it replaces. The family likes it a lot!

This is a nice solidly built pepper mill, but I think the design is a bit strange. You control the coarseness of the grind with the knob on top; loosen it to get a coarser grind. The problem is that this is the same knob that holds the top on. So, when you loosen it to get a really coarse grind the top is loose and wobbly. It’s kind of weird and off-putting to me, but it does work fine.Grinding pepper is easy and you can get anything from very fine to very coarse, as you like. It’s really a pretty good product. It fills from the top and the opening is nice and wide.

It works but it doesn’t hold much salt, jams a lot, and isn’t the most practical salt mill for use around the kitchen. If you just want to leave this on your dining table because its pretty attractive looking, it would work for that purpose but it isn’t very convenient for use around the kitchen. It is always jamming and I can never tell if it is spitting out salt or not and I need to wrestle with it for ever when I want to season things in the kitchen before cooking. I am using the pink Himalayan salt in it, not like a wet salt or anything, so it should be okay but this thing is just a pain if you need more than a little salt. It doesn’t store much salt in the reservoir and you can’t see the level but you can see that from the pictures, its just a few more points off for practicality. I always have to bang the thing on the counter to unjam the clogged up salt and it makes a mess. Unless you really like the way this one looks, I would recommend a different one.

The mill arrived in perfect shape, which Iβm attributing to its build-quality, and not Amazonβs packing job (it was in an open-ended plastic bag in the bottom of a padded envelope along with 2 boxed page-a-day calendars)! There is a little booklet attached, written in French and several other languages including English, with instructional drawings. But really, it operates like every other wooden peppermill Iβve ever owned, just better. Since I like my pepper fairly finely ground, Iβm not having the wobbly top issue reported by those that prefer a ver coarse grind. The mill feels solid, delivers a consistently-sized grind, and doesnβt leave a dusting of extra pepper on the table underneath it. Also, I like that it doesnβt hold a ton of pepperβI think peppercorns stay fresher longer in a glass jar and I donβt mind refilling the grinder now and then, itβs easy.
