Our can opener, which belonged to my fiancΓ©βs grandmother, opened its last can, we had to look for a replacement. This can opener was priced right & looked easy to use, similar to traditional can openers we are all familiar with using. It also has has a much more modern look to it compared to our previous can opener which was probably purchased in the 70βs, if not before. The black with brushed stainless accent appearance matched our refrigerator and kitchen decor much better too. As for how it works? So far so good! Havenβt had any troubles with it yet after opening 5 or 6 cans on chili night. If it CAN continue this for anywhere near its predecessor then it is a no brainer buy for anyone looking for a new can opener.

This can opener is excellent. For the price, itβs the best you can do. I spent a small fortune on manual can openers from amazon over the past 3 years and finally had enough. I ordered this one and couldnβt believe how easy it was to open cans of all sizes that I needed to make my Sunday sauce and lasagna. I opened the tiniest of tomato paste cans to the largest of the crushed tomatoes. The only thing I would change is how to properly fit on the arm onto the standing device. I was scared to cut myself when I initially set it up and the directions werenβt 100% clear.

the twist tie on the cord made it really difficult to remove it from the little pocket on the back. once it’s out it’s not hard to get the cord in and out. it’s not too loud and I like that the blade comes off and the magnet sticks to the metal side of the device. it’s plastic so it came with a few scratches and dents but I’m not too worried about it as long as it works.

This was just what we needed! My wife was having trouble gripping the hand held strong enough to cut cans. This way she wonβt have to worry about that. Plus, I can open my beer bottles on the front! Not that I needed another opener, but what the heck! Not to mention the knife sharpener on the back! We were just talking about how maybe we need to replace knives. Maybe we wonβt have to do that now!

I wanted to buy an electric can opener; I have a manual, but decided to take a chance and hopefully get a well made one. The Pohl Schmitt seemed to have very good reviews, and as soon as I received it I put it to the test. It works very well! I have only had it for a week, but for the few times I used it already, it seems to be worth the money.

What could one possibly have to say about a standard, ordinary small kitchen appliance? I could just say it opens cansβ¦but thatβs not quite true. Yes it opens cans, but better than any other can opener Iβve ever used. Itβs fast, stays put while cleanly and completely removing the lid without leaving that inconvenient and dangerous section where you have to twist a sharp metal piece around just to get the lid off completely and not without splattering the contents across the kitchen. Youβd think that all of those features would be standard issue for a simple, commonplace can opener. But you know as well as I thatβs not so.Iβve struggled with substandard household devices most of my life. More so in recent years where more often than not products are shipped from every corner of the world. When something like this comes along, I want to shout it from the rooftops! Yes, yes, I know, itβs just a can opener. But itβs the most efficient, easy to use and clean, inexpensive, unobtrusive and notably from a trusted brand that Iβve had the good fortune to find and purchase.

This can opener can only open 15-ounce cans without your support. Larger cans fall to the counter top almost immediately. It is also loud when in operation. However, I will continue to use it because it does work well for most jobs. I don’t often need to open large cans. I haven’t tried the sharpener or bottle opener yet.

Impressive for a brand I never heard of. I’m 65 so have had many years of exposure with brand recognition. Nice cleaning feature that cutting blade is removeable. Cord storage handy. Not sure I’ll ever use the bottle opener, but there if I need one. Read reviews before purchase and noticed some negative remarks. I’ve not found those issues. Am perfectly happy with purchase and results. Well worth the money in my opinion.
