   I’ve been using this for a little while now and it seems to be holding up just fine; if not it does come with spare parts. I always hand wash as it’s not like it gets all that dirty. I think my only negative is that it is a little bulky in terms of it’s like they think you are going to be cutting big blocks in half or something rather than slices. I guess if that’s what you need than this is perfect. It still cuts really well, just throws the balance off a little bit since the wire is offset quite a bit from the handle. Admittedly it feels like it’s going to break sometimes when I really give it some pressure, but I think that is just the wire and handle naturally flexing to prevent snapping.

   Doesn’t get much better than this. A classic design executed to near perfection. My only wish would be to replace the screws that hold the wire with knurled fasteners – so you don’t need to find a screwdriver to replace the wire.I bought this for soft to medium soft cheese and also use for cutting bulk hunks of butter for my oversized butter keeper. Works better than a knife. Low drag, easy to clean and stainless.Talk about keeping it simple and effective.

   An ideal tool for sandwich making. It is the right size, handle design, and sturdiness to be very useful. Works nicely with the LocknLock Butter container/server to slice an 8 oz block of cheese for sandwiches and meals. The stainless alloy design is a feature not found in other slicers as it is lightweight and not easily bendable.

   This does a fine job slicing cheese blocks and there’s a reason that this design has been around for decades. It’s simple and effective, even in harder cheeses. I’ve found the slicing board setups to be fussy, overpriced, and hard to keep clean. The only downside is that this slicer leaves a thin tail of uncut cheese when used on a flat surface, but you’ll quickly learn how to complete the slice cleanly.
