I liked how sharp my knives came out; even the really old ones. Maybe there is a learning curve? On a couple of small paring knives the blade became wedged in the grinder- like pulled down into it, and once the wheel even stopped for a second. This did not happen with large knives. I became careful not to let the blade lower than just making contact (with the little knives.)\ The other thing is that some of my knives widen at the shank where the handle is attached, and this gets in the way of being able to sharpen the blade all the way back toward the handle, as the grooves are too narrow for the shank to get in that close to the grinder.( And I think the grooves have to be narrow.). I donβt see how any other grinder of this type would allow for the shank, but I just mention it for awareness. Love the suction cup feet.

With the way the sharpener is designed some knives can’t be sharpened the full length of the knife. I know that is more the knives fault then the sharpener, but still. It does sharpen very nicely and is easy to use, but just know certain knives work better than others in it.

Honestly I was hesitant. I have some pricey knifes and some cheap ones. And I’ve seen some pricey knife sharpeners and the cheap ones. I always like to assume that most expensive is best. But I know it’s not always the case (apple lol) this sharpener does what I need it too and it does it well for cheap (not 200$). Not great but well enough. I started with my cheap knife because I was worried about chips. And good thing because even though it is easy-to-use, it’s easy to not use right. The grinder inside can easily catch your knife by the tip. And you can easily sharpen a weird edge. But after a few trials it’s smooth sailing. I’m new to electric sharpeners, I’ve always been more of a clay or stone person and prefer by hand. But I’ve been unable to keep up with them lately for my wife since she’s recently taken over cooking. This is quick and easy. The blade doesn’t seem as fine as when I use a clay block, but I cut tomatoes and they didn’t squish. And I cut sweet potatoes and it went right on through without too much struggle. So clearly the fine-Ness feel of the blade isn’t always the tell. But I will say, you can’t sharpen at night if you’re somewhere sounds may echo. Like apt or townhouse. It’s a little loud according to my hard-if-hearing partner lol. I felt like it wasn’t too bad. And I’ve always working with cutting tools so the sound of metal grinding doesn’t bother me. But keep in mind that there will be a sound of metal on metal because obviously electric sharpener sharpening. I like it so far(:

Seems to work as intended. Knives were sharpened that could not cut butter previously. They do not hold the fine edge long, but well enough fir my needs.

The direction is is easy to fallow. Just need to sharpen more of if your knife is really dull. It really worked. I had an old knife that could not even cut an onion now it so sharp that it could cut through hard vegetables like carrots, potatoes even bones with out a problem.

We have always done our own knife sharpening so I have nothing to compare an electric sharpener to. AS we get OLD we have to use other options with an affordable price that reads what we would need to fill our need. It seems to do the trick.
