I purchased this kit because I really wanted to try my hand at making cheese. My husband loves cheese and most of the cheeses that we use day in and day out are these types of cheeses. I had only made yogurt cheese or farmers cheese with instructions off the Internet. I still felt timid about trying the kit, but had it in my heart to make lasagne. Garden was finishing so I put together a rich Italian sausage/beef sauce. Which I put in the freezer to hold until I got confidence up to make the Ricotta and the Mozzarella. The day arrived, I made the Ricotta first following the instructions provided. I at first did not think that I had succeeded. I did, it turned out beautifully. On to the Mozzarellas. Again I felt as though I was floundering but I kept going back to the directions and checking my steps. Mozzarella came out beautifully too. Husband was impressed and lasagne was delicious with leftovers saved for later. Kit itself is very basic, thought of giving it as a gift too.

With milk being so cheap right now, I wanted to try my hand at making my own cheese. The kit arrived quickly and with everything you need to start making cheese. So far Iβve tried out the mozzarella. The instructions are really clear until you get to the stretching part – I could have used some more guidance on how long youβre supposed to fold it, and how exactly youβre supposed to stretch it. It tasted good, but the texture wasnβt quite right. Iβm going to look up some videos on making mozzarella and try again. Still a really fun way to spend an evening!

I just received my order and Iβm super excited to make some cheese!! When I opened the package ( which was super cute) I could immediately feel small sand like grit inside the plastic. One bag was double packed and was leaking slightly. But the other one wasnβt. I didnβt lose a significant amount but still the company needs to double check the baggies before shipping. Or change to glass screw top bottles! I would order again but would very likely complain if it happened again!

This was fun to make. I gave it as a gift, and the receiver loved it. It came in a beautiful Starry Night mailing bag, and was nicely presented! The citric acid spilled all over the box, which was a bit upsetting. I was expecting to receive cheese cloth, but we actually ended up receiving a napkin-like cloth which can be washedβ Iβm just worried how long it will last, it felt a bit cheap. Overall, Iβm very happy.PS: Making queso fresco? Season it! I suggest dill, dried basil, garlic powder, oregano, thyme, and some flaky salt. Go heavy on all of it. Mix before adding to the cheese, obviously. Tastes gross without seasoning in my opinion.

This kit worked okay. Using ingredients and instructions included, as well as local whole milk, the results came out tasting similar to mozzarella cheese. It was a little bland each time, didnβt melt as well, or look very similar to store bought balls. Looking into other methods and ingredients to make better cheese. The cheese cloth and quantity of each ingredient made this a good value. Hoping to figure out how to make a better cheese with the remaining ingredients.

Good starter but, a little skimpy for people who have some experience in cheese making. If you are looking to make a half pound of cheese this kit is great, if your milking five ten goats, six ,eight sheep and, a cow you probably are in a bigger league of cheese making.

My Husband loves the product and plans to order more in the future.
