Everything on this product works great. My only complaint would be that I wished the mouth of this product would be bigger. Or build a bigger version of this. So I can put in FULL SIZE potatos or onions, etc vs cutting them in half. At times, I wanted long slices of the veggies but cannot due to cutting them in half so the size of the output is much smaller than desired..The manual sliding type takes more muscle and to cut hard veggies like potatos and carrots, but you can cut them from the long side of the veggie to get long juliene strips…

I bought this after cutting my finger yet again on a mandolin. I was really hopeful that this would solve that problem and it did. It’s perfectly safe and I even feel comfortable letting my child use it because there are no sharp parts at risk to her. I am very happy with this purchase for that reason.As far as cleaning – that can be difficult. I use the little brush that comes with it and it helps a lot but sometimes little veggie bits get stuck in the hard to reach areas. I find that you want to clean this up ASAP – not waiting until after dinner or later once the veggies get dried and stuck to the equipment. Once I started doing that it was much easier to keep it clean. I use it multiple times a week and am very pleased.

The slicer was easy to set up and easy to use. Cleaning it is a little tougher. Also, you have to get the pieces of larger veggies (like squash) cut down small enough to fit in the chute.
