Its function is pretty simple. I remove the cover and pour my bacon grease and solids thru the screen. I only fry a small amount of bacon for my wife and me so there is not a lot of rendered fat to store. I haven’t cleaned it yet. I like the retro look. It reminds me of my mom and grandmother’s kitchens. I got the green. I’m a green guy.

Before I had this, I had to find my strainer and hope that it was clean and then try not to spill precious bacon grease on the counter. My wife was tired of repurposed salsa jars full of bacon grease cluttering the counter top and fridge. This is a good size, although, I haven’t filled it more than half-full. I could get by with a smaller container. It looks nice enough that my sweetheart doesn’t mind it sitting in its place next to the stove.
