I saw the lady who was in charge of wine tasting using an item like this when we were tasting wine and I was intrigued by it. I came home and googled it and had to get one. As a newbie that just got into wine, this tool was super beneficial! We didn’t finish our bottle and it kept it fresh. It says up to a week but we finished the bottle about 2 weeks after we opened it. It was super fresh and tasted exactly the same.

I use a pair of these for my vermouth bottles and it makes a massive difference in the shelf life. The stoppers do wear out, though; after a little over a year I found out they weren’t holding a vacuum any longer when the dry vermouth went funky. Not going to knock a star off for that, though, as replacements are not expensive.
