Peeling apples is a chore! I got free apples from a friend and first batch of applesauce I peeled by hand. Never again! This little device is a game changer for sure. Not only can you peel an apple in seconds you have much less waste because I peel fast a furious by hand to get the job done! The apples weren’t perfect so the peeling wasn’t 100% perfect but it was a 1000% easier and better. I don’t mind peels in my applesauce. And they were tiny and few. The coring was 99.99999% perfect too. I’m going to try making spiral cut potatoes with the skins on tonight. This is way too much fun. Kids would love it…This kid does…Took me 67 years to get one of these…

We have two apple trees, so we purchased it to make quick work of peeling hundreds of apples for pies and for apple sauce.Right out of the box, it worked very well and sped up the process considerably. I finished in about 1/4 of the time it would have otherwise taken. The unit is very sturdy and the suction base insures stable operation on a smooth surface. It probably will not work well on a rough surface.Cleaning was easy, although it is easy to overlook and remove small pieces remaining around the curved peeler blade and it remains unclear if the stainless steel is of sufficient quality to prevent rust from developing after extended use. Consequently, make sure you carefully dry the tool after use. It’s also not clear how long the blades will stay sharp. Since the peeler blade is U-shaped, sharpening may prove difficult, but probably not impossible with a narrow metal file. The tool worked well as advertised and the instructions clear and easy to follow. However, because the corer and the slicer are formed from a single piece, there is no way to simply core the apple without also slicing it into a ribbon. The product could be improved if the slicer blade and round corer ring were formed of two separate units so that apples could be cored without slicing, thereby permitting apples to be pared into nice wedge shaped pieces for pies rather than cutting the resultant ribbon. If you want wedge-shaped pieces, it’s best to also buy a wedge-shaped pie corer to finish the job after peeling with the corer/slicer blade moved to a non-slice position (done easily with a winged lock-nut).

I bought this peeler because I wanted to can apples this year. It took a few minutes to learn how to remove the slicer. Be careful, it is sharp. But once I remover the slicer part, I was able to just peel and core. What a difference. So much easier to cut the apple.I love this peeler/slicer/corer. It made processing my bushel of apples so much quicker. The only negative I have is the base could have a little more suction. It held it in place but popped loose only a couple of times. Perhaps, wetting the surface before clamping could help.I recommend this product. ?

This was really fast and easy to peel, core and slice apples all at once. (You can also core and slice without peeling.) Takes about 20-30 seconds per apple. You do have to guide the peeling arm a little to keep it from getting stuck in the same spot and making a trough in your apple, but that’s not a big deal. It’s all metal and seems sturdy enough. The suction bottom grips the countertop well. Can’t do really large apples like fujis though, won’t fit, medium apples seem best. Great price for the quality and usefulness. Easy to clean, just rinse and dry. Haven’t tried potatoes.Addendum: doesn’t work on softer apples like Gala, the core strips out right away and you’re done. Need to use a really firm apple with a firm core, like Fuji.

This is cheaply made. Very lightweight. Suction worked. It did the job, but very hard to clean. Pieces don’t disassemble easily and apple was stuck everywhere. Clean immediately after use, don’t let it set for too long. It cut, peeled and cored the apples perfectly, but I can tell it won’t last very long. Looks like it might rust easily, as well. I bought this one to see if I’d actually get use out of it before buying a more durable one. In my opinion, it is worth the money. Heftier ones are an investment and about 4x as much. If you’re looking to test out using this type of device, this is a great one to try. I’m ready for a nicer one now.

I only make pies during the holidays and usually enlist my kids to help peel etc. This year we bought this peeler and I couldnβt believe I hadnβt invested in this long ago! So worth it even if itβs just one pie! When choosing apples, look for the most uniform, non bumpy apples for ease of use. Very pleased with this purchase!

Peels and slices well, as advertised. However, it is difficult to remove the apple core from the three-pronged holder–the apple is slippery so you have to really grip it and yank it. Ditto for placing the apple on the holder–you have to really force it on the prongs in order for the apple to stay put. The risk of poking yourself with the sharp prongs or slicing your finger on the slicer should not be underestimated. Works best for softer apples like gala or macintosh, since it’s a lot easier to get the core on and off. Using harder apples like pink lady or honey crisp requires a lot more care and attention. Bottom line, works well but at your own risk!
