I don’t often take the time to write reviews but this tofu press really warrants taking the time. This is the second tofu press I have purchased and absolutely the best. Why you ask? I’m happy to tell you! I love using this thing it’s unusual in the fact that you place your block of tofu inside the container and all of the fluid when you press is contained within this small green container, it’s perfect. I am a woman of nearly 60. I have both shoulder, hand injuries and limited upper body strength. This tofu press is easy even for me to use. Once you have your block of tofu inside the container there are bands on each side and you simply take the band on the left and then take the band on the right and slip it over these plastic pieces. It feels awkward but it can be done once you have your bands on you press these handles inside and then that presses your tofu down into the inner container that has a screen at the bottom. The water starts to be pressed out of the tofu nicely and then during the process you pour out the water into the sink. Instead of screws that many tofu presses use this one once you’ve pressed so much water out you can take your bands and bring them down one more level and then start to press more fluids out of the tofu in steps. I’ve used mine three times now and it’s become a really great way to able to get vegetable protein into my diet. After the water is gradually removed from the tofu then you can conveniently add your marinade/sauce onto the tofu while still conveniently in the container. Once all the fluid is removed from the tofu then it’s time for the fun part I make my marinade in a separate container I personally like using soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar sometimes and even sometimes a few drops of liquid smoke for a vegetable stir fry for a well seasoned tofu. Think beef jerkey flavors. Why I love this tofu press? It is affordable, easy for a person with weak hands to use and the clean up is a breeze. I am able to make very affordable and healthy stir fry meals for often under $4.00. Generally just over $2.00 for the block of tofu and then the cost of your veggies basically. Great purchase for me and if you want to start making tofu, you’ll be able to manage this press, it’s effective, lower cost tasty vegetable protein based healthy meals and easy cleanup. This review is all my own and I have not been paid for my review or given anything. I just love this tofu press and I want to encourage other people who are looking that this is really a great one to buy. Cheers and bon appetit!

I just started cooking tofu at home and this has been 100% worth the purchase. I’m actually debating getting a second one. So far this has lasted for a month and i eat tofu at least 3x a week now prepared in different ways. A proper pressing is always the first crucial step to good tofu texture. I much prefer having the press than the other “DIY” methods of pressing. This allows your tofu to press in the fridge while prepping other things, or overnight if you need it extra dry for frying or something. Personally for the price i think its a great time saver instead of using 2 plates or books or whatever else people tell you to use for the “DIY” method. With this, i just add the tension bands, put in fridge, and dump water every so often without having any messes.

Super easy to use and clean, and absolutely worth it. I hated fiddling around with dish towels and heavy pots when pressing tofu. I use this every time I cook with tofu, and it works great. I can get super dense tofu if I need to. It does crush the edges of the tofu if you leave it too long, so sometimes it’s hard to get really nice tofu cubes, but that seems to be an issue more with the brand of tofu I use. My typical brand works great, and I can get really nice, crispy tofu.

I had been using different sorts of heavy objects to press the water out of tofu for years. This device is far superior as a presser. My only complaint and probably it can’t be addressed is that the straps on the side are difficult to fasten if you have arthritic hands. They require quite a bit of hand strength to slide into the notches.

Easy to use and gets the tofu pretty dry. I left tofu in overnight and got excellent results. The next time, I left tofu in for 30 minutes and got pretty good results. It’s good if you’re in a hurry to make a tofu meal but better if you plan ahead

I hesitate to even write this review. Not because everything I’m about to write is not true (superlatively!). But rather because it’s so much more effective, convenient easy to use clean & store, everyone will buy one. This will inevitably lead to the maker raising the price. In the old days tofu lovers used lots of paper or even regular towels under heavy objects like books to press the excess water from their blocks. And although we’ve certainly come a long way since, at best the other presses require constant continuous adjusting to get the job done. This one could not be more convenient and requires no monitoring or adjusting at all. You essentially “Set It & Forget It”.With three separate pieces: The press itself, a perfectly sized inner case with tiny feet to elevate and little holes in its bottom for draining to snugly hold your block and the outer shell it sits in to catch and hold the excess water you just pour off without having to remove the block. It really could not be easier. You just drop your block in, anchor the silicone bands lock it in place and forgetaboutit. With three different levels of pressure adjustment, you can (unlike all the others) even press silken tofu. It makes pressing tofu so easy convenient and simple, it’s almost fun.Sadly, already I notice the price has gone up since I purchased mine. And although very sturdy it can’t possibly last forever leaving me with only one regret: I did not buy one or two more.

So far I love it. I wash it in the top rack of my dishwasher and I haven’t had any issues. It’s nice to finally have a tofu press, and a bit better than wrapping the tofu in dish clothes and weighing it down with whatever heavy things are laying around. It gets most of the liquid out.
