The mesh is sturdy and the functionality is great due to its size and the extendable arms, but the metal frame around the upper/outer edge isn’t clamped down very well so strained food (noodles, ground beef, etc.) will get stuck underneath when pouring the food back into another container.

I used this colander to wash 80 lbs of aquarium gravel for new tank. Washed 5 lbs at a time and nothing fell through the holes.

This strainer gets use almost every day in our household, for all the normal tasks like draining pasta or rinsing strawberries. It’s sturdy and fits our sink well. Pretty easy to clean — just flip over and use the spray attachment from the sink. Good value, would buy again.

The only downside to it is it is a bit hard to clean, but I think that is all colanders
