Was a bit larger than I remembered using years back but it’s better this way. Much easier to handle. I sometimes take a canned soup for lunch or canned fruit cocktail for break. The brand I buy recently changed the lid from a pull top to the kind that needs to be opened with a can opener. This item is just what I needed.

I know what a P-38 and a P-51 can openers are the P-38 I was issued to me when I was in the US Navy when I was fed Sea Rations. I had heard of the P-51. I decided to purchase the set. Sadly I never received that set. But I decided to order another one. These also come with a Key Ring. This item is well packaged and came in perfect condition. This is what I exactly wanted and I may order again if I have a need to. Great product.

My late father insisted that he have one of the WW2 originals on his keyring. When our electric can opener (aka the cat calling machine) smoked and I discovered the mechanical opener from 1966 had become a “piece of junk”, I finally understood the issue. The can withstood a screwdriver, tin snips, and electrician’s pliers. A P-38 now lives in the kitchen drawer and in my tool box.
