Iβve been a fan of safety can openers for a long time. I have been using a manual safety can opener for a long time, but as I get older, the manual opener is getting more difficult to twist. With this electric can opener, there is no more twisting! Just snap into place and push the button, canβt get any easier. The downside of this can opener is that sometimes you need to make 2 passes on a can to fully cut through the lid. The other negative for me is that it takes 4 AA batteries versus being rechargeable, but some people may find it a plus that it uses batteries. For the quality of the unit, I feel it is a little expensive for what you get. Overall, if you are looking for an easy to use electric safety can opener, this will work for you.

For the size and ease of use this is a handy little gadget to add to your kitchen. If you are cooking and have multiple cans to open and don’t have time to focus on just opening them this is a great time saver allowing you to continue on other tasks. It opens a little slower than I expected and the motor bogs down a little while cutting even with brand new batteries but it leaves a nice clean edge and opens cans well. I see no reason why I couldn’t recommend this to anyone looking for a handy can opener.

This can opener cuts the side of the seal on a can instead of puncturing down through the lid. This is a safer way to open a can as the lid will not have any sharp edges that could cut you. Operation is pretty simple. You place the opener on top of the can and press the button once and it starts doing its thing. It engages the cutter and then starts spinning itself around the can. It does make a funny clicking sound as it travels around the can, but I assume that this is normal as the opener never sounds labored when traveling around the can. Once the opener has traveled 360 degrees around the can, it disengages the cutter and shuts off. It has a magnet on the bottom of the cutter that is supposed to catch the lid, but I have never experienced the lid coming off by itself for the magnet to catch. You do have to manually remove the lid your self, but it is pretty easy. There is what seems like an adhesive or part of the seal of the lid that kind of keeps the lid in place instead of allowing it to pop off freely. The opener does use 4 AA batteries. It would have been nice to have seen a rechargeable battery and usb port to charge it. However, using standard batteries does add life to the can opener as rechargeables make a product disposable once the battery dies. Overall, this is a great little can opener that is effective and fun to use.

Definitely does the job. Make sure the can has open because it appears that the can does not open although it has. The opener will recut the can again and your ingredients will fall out. It takes me a few times to get it right.

Standard can of Costco Evap milk. The first time, it was not engaged, just left teeth marks on the inner wall. Second made sure it was engaged (which is hard to tell, because it didn’t seem much different from the first time) and it did its thing with aplomb. There is no rim left on the can , just a smooth edge. It self turns around the can, so it really is as simple as putting it on correctly and pushing the button.

Really glad I have had experience with can openers like this one or I might not have known how to get the lid off of the can or assumed the can opener simply didn’t work.I did not bother to look for instructions because it seemed easy to figure out so I don’t honestly know if it came with any.Although I do like how it works, itis a little difficult to attach but once it’s on, it’s good to go.My only complaint is that I wish it was rechargeable and came with batteries because I can get other mechanical can openers at cheaper rates, but it really is nice to have no sharp edges.I use my handheld more frequently right now, maybe I’m just used to it, but it’s more comfortable to me.I will use the other one every now and then.

Basic electric can opener that does require 4 AA batteries that are not included. Works well for standard size cans. I have not tried it on larger cans yet, but can’t complain as I don’t have to use it too often. It’s small, so it’s easy to take with you anywhere. Perfect for camping no need to plug into any electrical source/outlets.
