It works quite well. I bought it to use primarily on Parmesan cheese and for that it works pretty well. The handle is a bit problematic. It is a cam lock style and it seems to fall off easily but this might be just learning curve as I have only used it a few times. The drums are sharp and it works quickly. The unit isn’t big and if you have an 8 oz wedge of parmesan you will have to cut it down to fit it in. Cleanup is fast. The extra little bottles are a nice feature and handy if you have a little left over. Finally it really is a Grater, not a shredder. This is true of all of the items in this class. Admittedly its fine setting is quite fine but it isn’t grated cheese. I am still working on figuring out the equivalents for recipes which specify amounts of grated cheese in cups but that will just take some time. Overall this is a good device and works well.

I read some of the other reviews before purchasing this grater and to be honest I am assuming they were Neanderthals. How someone could press so hard on the grater to shred the plastic body totally escapes me.I’ve used it to grate nearly 5 pounds of cheeses and am loving more and more. Hard cheeses can be a little trying at times to grate, but pull it out, turn it in the grater and move on. I’m 59 and sometimes I can get a little impatient, but if you’re squeezing the grater hard enough to grate hardened plastic…maybe this isn’t for you. However, if you don’t live in a cave this grater will fit the bill. The best part of this grater is you can go in trying it without fear because it has a wonderful warranty and the company stands behind it 100%.

I love to cook, I like seeing others enjoy something I made for them. One thing I never thought about was using already grated cheeses. Once I tried just grating my own I was hooked. Not only is the fresh grated cheese so much more flavorful, but most pre-grated cheese usually contains some type of cellulose to keep it from sticking together, but that also seems to keep it from melting down smoothly. I have a box grater, but it just isn’t convenient for hard cheeses, it’s messy, and just isn’t something I would dig out to say, garnish a plate of spaghetti. So I got this grater to simplify the task of grating those delicious blocks of Parmesan, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and Pecorino Romano. This grater does a great job of reducing those blocks into delicious piles of grated cheese. I am very happy with it and didn’t give it 5 stars for just two reasons. One, the handle feels just a little too flexible. It hasn’t broken, and it works great, but it just feels like I have to be careful not to put too much pressure on the handle. The second reason is the storage shakers that come with it. They are a great idea, but just a little too small to be really useful. It would be nice if at least one of them was big enough to fill up at the counter and put on the table for guests. A dinner party of 6 would use way more cheese than these little guys would hold. Other than those two minor improvements, this grater is a really good unit. I would definitely buy again, those two negatives are just little things I would change.

I BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT BY A RECOMMENDATION OF A FRIEND, I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS TYPE OF GRATER FOR A WHILE AND THIS ONE DID NOT DISAPOINT AT ALL. I LOVE THE LITTLE CONTAINERS AND THE DIFFERENT GRATE DRUMS IT COMES WITH. LOVE THE PRODUCT, DON’T HAVE ANY COMPLAINT AT ALL.

Great product! It saved me so much trouble grating cheese! And I really love the containers that came with it! Now I can have extra grated cheese stored for later without extra mess! Bought less than 4 years ago. Used it infrequently, maybe 30-40 times. Drum broke into pieces. Plastic end broke from metal tube. Additionally, was shocked to see heavy grooves in plastic gouged by grater teeth. Obviously, I have been eating plastic along with cheese and didn’t realize it.Update: Manufacturer contacted me and will replace under warranty.Update 2: Replacement received and they have changed both of the metal drum designs from my original. Hopefully this will make it a 5-star product. Excellent customer service.
