I bought this a month ago, finally needed to use it. And not even 20min into re-seasoning my cast iron skillet my kitchen was FILLED with smoke. Still is. That was almost an hour ago. My whole house smells like burnt oil…very disappointed

Back in the day when my mom used cast iron pans, never rushed. We cooked, soaked and wash them without them getting rushed I donβt know what is in the pans or the cleaning products today. I am thinking I might get sick.

It’s nice to have when you don’t have bacon grease or shortening on hand.

I do homeless outreach where we sometimes hand out hand santizer. We specifically have to get brands that do not contain Vitamin E because people often burn it to start fires, and Vitamin E is dangerous when inhaled. If you are working with high temperatures, I would not recommend this product, as it does explicitly say it contains this chemical. Even putting aside temperature issues, Vitamin E can cause an allergy in some people.

Seasoned one βfreshβ cast iron skillet and re-seasoned one to bring back to non-stick. Walrus oil worked great! Coating went on smooth and seems to be holding up really well after a couple weeks of daily use. Coating is so much better than my original seasoning coating that this has become my go to pan to cook eggs.

I have a colored cast iron pan. It has a white interior. I followed the directions and seasoned my pan at 400 for an hour. Now I have burnt ugly brown oil coated all over the inside. It going to take a lot of scrubbing to get it off. Used it once and tossed it in the garbage. I recommend using anything but this product

This is genuinely great oil for your cast iron stuff!Pros:1.) It coats well and is very smooth.2.) Low to no odor.3.) It has a high smoke point, so it wonβt fill up your kitchen with oily smoke!4.) Easy to hold bottle; itβs small enough to easily use one handed, without risking dropping a massive bottle of oil, especially after using it.Cons:1.) The cap design is horrendous. Its wide mouthed and open, which causes the oil to spill out all over the cap and down the bottle. Itβs a slight waste and you have to clean the bottle up every time. Not the first time a big mouth has gotten me in troubleβ¦Other than that, itβs good stuff and top notch!
