There are many inferior cheese slicers here. this one is sturdy, simple.

This may not be a high end rolling slicer, but it works! It slices evenly (from either side), and smoothly. The wire and roller are aligned, and to obtain a thinner slice just increase the angle to the cheese block. Dry/crumbly cheeses are difficult with this style cutter, a board & wire cutter works best.

We’ve been using the Westmark Germany Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Wire Cheese Slicer for several months now. It’s sturdy and does its job effortlessly. The stainless steel wire is strong and will not rust. The slicer is easily cleaned with soap and water. The aluminum handle is not intended to be placed in the dishwasher as it will discolor and leave residue on your cheese. A great product.

When’s the last time you bought a small item for the kitchen, especially something as prone to failure as a cheese slicer, and had it last seven years?! This slicer last seven years, three months and five days until the wire broke. I’m used to replacing these things every two years. Yes, it’s a it more expensive than many, but in this case you really do get what you pay for!
